Replacement dinette cushion foam

The dinette cushions in our Rockwood MiniLite 2104S are worthless. The foam is so soft that it doesn't support a person's weight, resulting in you quickly sinking to the wood support underneath the foam. We are looking to replace the foam inserts in the cushions and would like suggestions on places to shop.

Joanne's Fabric stores, Amazon, Foam Factory https://www.foambymail.com/seats-and-cushions.html just to name a few

I replaced my dinette cushions foams (same issue as yours) and had the foam inserts cut to existing (took sample to shop) size at a local fabric and foam shop. The foam comes in various flexes and thickness and I needed 5" thick. What I'm trying to say is call around to local furniture upholsterers and such. It was easy to do and cured my issue.

Like Bubbles, I would suggest a local upholstery shop.

Due to the weighted occupants of our fifth wheel, at the end of the first season I /we replaced all the foam in the cushions with foam from "The Foam Factory".
Five stars to the Foam Factory. What a big difference the second season was.

Things to consider, there is more to cushions than a single block of foam, we layered ours (Glued together, custom) there is a scrim covering to help the cushions retain there shape. You may need some strong Zip Ties or "Hog Nose Rings" to do the couches. All this info is on the website.

Good luck and comfortable seating.

I know in the Cincy area there is at least one shop that will cut foam for you custom... price depends on density and size... I did that a few years ago and was surprised on how reasonable it was. Do a goggle search for your area...

Foam near Elmhurst

You want high-density foam. Easy to find here in North Carolina. Looking for it in Elmhurst, IL, try JoAnn Fabrics in Lombard, or foamforyou.com, or the retailers listed here.

I have had the same problem with my last two Forest River trailers. Cushion foam so soft the grand kids didn't even want to sit on them, however, I was able to get Forest River to authorize foam replacement under warranty. I obtained a bid from a local upholstery shop and submitted for approval. Approval was granted.

I went to Joann Fabrics today. While they had a lot of foam, none of it was any firmer than what I already had. So I ordered three pieces from the Foam Factory. I give a full report once I've had a chance to plant my backside on the new foam.

Based on jjkd's advice (see post #5 above) we went with Foam Factory's Cushion, Lux Foam, High Quality. Three pieces came today for the dinette seat cushions. Installed and they are great! Highly recommend.

Based on these reviews, I may replace my dinette cushion foams. I thought maybe I was just too fat! Seems I'm not the only one who's thighs are being punished sitting on those cushions.

It makes a world of difference even for us "husky" fellas. And the cost of foam at The Foam Factory was WAY cheaper than a local re-upholstery shop when I inquired at one a while back.

what are we looking at cost-wise for two dinette cushions? I don't think they are even 3 feet long.

We replaced our dinette cushions with foam from The Foam Factory as well. We absolutely love it. Ours was standard dinette we measured the foam and ordered exactly the same size. New foam came in about a week. It was very reasonable. All in under $200.

Nice, but 200 bucks seems steep for two pieces of foam not even 3' long each.

No we replaced all 4 cushions 4ft x 2ft pieces with the delux foam. My buddy had only 2 pieces replaced by a upholstery shop and it cost him over $400. At least now we can sit comfortably so it was worth every penny.

That sounds more reasonable, didn't know how much foam you bought.
