I just installed these two items in my 21Fbrs microlitr. Ordered from Amazon. The foam is firm.

It felt like it will be. I'll let you know for sure after the weekend. It's a foam that is used mainly for sofa / couch cushions. We also use a few large throw pillows.

We were both pleased with the comfort of the foam we installed. Depends on how firm you like the cushions to be. We were using a twin mattress, which was very soft and plush. It was okay, but way to soft for sitting. The size was a perfect fit for the platform. Because this foam is a little tacky, it won't slide off and the cover will stay in place. You could consider a convertible futon. Just make sure it will fit in door.
