RV Mattress Replacement

We are replacing our RV king mattress. Does anyone have experience with Wilderness RV Mattress? We are considering their Montana model.

I've always just bought the memory foam mattresses from Sam's, Costco, etc. If you put them in a bed that's an "RV King" or "RV Queen", you might have to trim some foam off the end, but it's no big deal. Our current TT is the only one that did not take the standard length, all my RVs with kings took a regular king.

I replaced my original mattress with a Wilderness RV Mattress, Montana. We got the Plush comfort level (firmness) thinking it would work for both my wife and I. And it has.

At first we tried a foam mattress topper, but to me that was like sleeping on a foam topper on top of concrete.

Also for us, a foam mattress would have added too much weight to our trailer, so the Montana was a very good replacement.

Measure your bed frame. There’s likely no reason why you need to buy an “RV” mattress. You’re paying mark up for no reason.

We bought an IKEA mattress(barley used) from some close friends. Our intention was to put in on a bed in our home but instead switched it out with our coachmen mattress. Oh what a difference this has made. We sleep better than in our bed at home.

We went to a mom and pop furniture store with our measurements and had one made to fit that we liked.

We purchased from Amazon on a recommendation from a fellow RVer.
Sleep Adventure is the brand and we purchased their 10" memory foam. Cost was about $450. Great mattress

Quite often an 'RV mattress' is slightly shorter, such as our RV queen.

We might try a Zinus memory foam mattress off Amazon next summer. 8" high, decent price and has really good reviews.

We are one of those that have a Zinus we bought from Amazon.

Put it in our RV first and liked it so much that we replaced our master and spare bedroom mattresses in the S&B with the same brand.

Yes but very easy to fix. We got an 8" memory foam from Amazon Basics during a "Deal of the Day" for $139.00. The foam of the mattress is encased in a very nice zip-off slip cover. An RV queen is exactly 5" shorter than a residential queen, so we unzipped the cover, took an electric knife (a bread knife will work too, just slower) and within about 15 seconds we had the excess trimmed off. Zipped the cover back on, tucked the excess cover under the mattress, and all is well.

We love it, I wish I could find someone to buy this brand-new Serta RV queen from me, we hated the springs.

And bonus, the extra 5" we lopped off fits perfectly tight under our TV, so now it has support when in motion.

I know that our original mattress would have made a good box spring

If it's a foam mattress, yes. Not all mattresses are foam.

We bought one and like it. It's a major improvement over the single slab foam mattress from the factory.

Our first attempt was the 10" version but that didn't work well with the Murphy bed. There is no difference in comfort between the two.

Fortunately for us, our neighbor was in the market for a new mattress and liked the 10" Zinus.

Our Flagstaff has a Camper Queen in it ,the mattress that came with it did not sleep very well, so we went to a mattress company that make them and had the company to make us a regular queen mattress into a camper queen all they did was cut about 8 in. off of bottom of the regular mattress and it worked GREAT, we also picked the firmness of mattress we wanted.
