Satellite Receiver Mount

Just took delivery of a Forest River Freedom Express 282RLDS - Ultra Lite, but there is not enough room to place the receiver as the slideout, when in, is too close to the entertainment center. I was thinking of some type of shelf that could be removed.
Any ideas or can some shelf be purchased that would hook onto the wood ledge that is for the storage under the TV or DVDs?

Can you take a picture of where your thinking about mounting it and post it? Would help in making suggestions.

Which satellite system are you working with? Some receivers can be had that are small enough to mount to the back of your television. For example, I have a DirecTV H24-100 receiver with a mount made specifically for putting it behind the television.

Something like this might work.

HIDEit Uni-M Adjustable Set-top Box Mount, PS3 Slim Bracket, Cable Box Storage, Satellite Receiver, Security DVR Shelf https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00F8NYASW/..._Vxd6BbDRB4HZG

Or you can do something much cheaper just using brackets to fit it in. Could be a permanent mount or something you put it inside once you are parked as part of setup.

Something like a few dollars in L brackets. Attach two of them together to make a U shaped bracket that the receiver slides into.

Receiver Mount

The "L" brackets attached to a wood board sounds like the best solution as long as there would be felt or something so as not to scratch the wood in the camper. It has to be removable as you can see from the photo I took with the slideout in. There is a wood "lip" under the TV to hold DVSs and needs to be attached and detached from that. It is to the lower left of the radio.

Adding photos that I just took.

The receiver is 13 inches wide and 9 inches deep.

That looks like a VIP211z Dish receiver. Why not switch to a Wally receiver (same outputs as the 211z) that is 2/3 the size/operates cooler and the remote is RF not IR and therefore the receiver does not even have to be visible for the remote to work. Might consider it.

I Googled the Dish Wally and it needs a Wi-Fi which I don't have in the RV.

I think it only needs wifi to use apps like Netflix. Not for a cable connection. I use mine without wifi.

Don't need Wi-Fi. The Wally functions exactly like the receiver you now have except for the advantages previously mentioned.

I checked and found that the Dish Wally is only 2.6” in width smaller than I have and 0.89” less in depth. Not enough difference to purchase a new receiver. Just have to figure out how to get a shelf to attach to that edge and removable. RV dealer ran the wires for me to that spot but no further suggestions.

A bracket for the receiver behind the TV will not work as there is no room there either.

Still thinking but need a solution by May 2019.

is there a cabinet above the T.V.? Mine has the same shallow cabinet above as below due to slide but the top of the cabinet is above the slide so I'm thinking of building a shelf on top of that cabinet and mounting the receiver on it. But I think that bracket for the back of the T.V. might work for mine, will measure.

Yes the Wally is as deep as your 211Z and it is 10 3/8" wide and just thought owing to the Wally type of remote (RF) that a shelf would not be required and the Wally could be mounted anywhere in any orientation. You'll figure it out.

I just found a mount that fits on the top of a TV to hold a speaker, receiver, etc., which I ordered and think that it will attach to the wood lip on the shelf below the TV. It has an adjustable leg to hold it level. It should arrive tomorrow. All of the wires are in that area as well as the AC receptacle.

I will have to see if I can get the slideout moved out enough to try the shelf. The storage shed limits how far I can open the slide.

Satellite Receiver Mount

I am 99% sure that this will work. I attached it to a ledge similar to the one in the camper, The adjustable leg holds it up. I am also including a photo of the box that it came in. I'll try it in the camper over Thanksgiving when I want to show it to family and will open the slideout part way.

A zip tie can hold the Dish Receiver on that shelf. Shelf is 5"D X 12 " W

The TV Shelf will work with the Dish Receiver. I opened the slide enough to try it out.
