Sewer hose storage tube

I have seen others that utilized vinyl fence posts and gutter to store their sewer hose and I really liked the idea so I thought that I would give it a try.
For the spot that I chose to mount the tube, I needed to make a mounting bracket that would drop the tube 1.5" from the belly of the trailer. So using the material I had lying around, I cut some 1.25" square tube which provided me the drop that I needed and a length of 1/4" flat stock which I used as the mounting plate. I then cut and bent some 1/8" flat stock to wrap around the post and welded it all together.
To keep it from rusting, I finished it with some rattle can spray in bed liner.
Next the vinyl post and gutter was cut to length and I bolted it all to the belly of the trailer.
To secure the post caps, I riveted the right side to permanently secure the cap. The left side, I drilled a hole on each side of the cap. Then I cut to length some round stock which I machined a grove on one end so it would accept a circlip and the other end I drilled and used a hairpin to secure it all in place.
To keep things separated in the tube, I cut some PVC trim boards to the reveal of the gutter and snapped them onto place.
So far it seems to be a great mod and I will give it a try this week. My only problem with it all is that because I chose to place the tube against the landing gear, my JT strong arms won't all me to fully raise my landing gear feet. When fully raised, the landing gear feet are held down about 2.5" from being fully retracted. I really hope that this does not result in a problem.

That was an excellent idea, particularly the slide-out tray aspect of it! It can be difficult getting the RHINO brand sewer hoses and accessories to fit in some of the existing set ups. I have the typical Valterra EZ Hose Carrier tube, and I still had to grind down some of the tabs on the orange collar to get it to fit. Your idea is way better.

I've got similar set up on my back bumper. Ive got it behind with large tie wraps because I can't find large enough u-bolts

Post a pic of what you have. I still have a few feet of the flat stock I used for mine. If you are not in a hurry, when I have time, I will bend and weld up a pair of mounts for you. (You will have to paint) You just pay to ship. Time and materials is on me.

Fortunately, my 1st trip out with the tube installed wasn't an issue. It was however all highway and the CG is at the shore which is all flat ground.
With the outcome of this trip, I don't think that I will have an issue until I do some boondocking. When that time comes, I will remove the bar which will allow the foot to fully retract.

You can make a u-bolt by bending threaded rod. Any size you want.

And, to make it really nice, a Harbor Frikked weed torch will heat the threaded rod up good. Wrap it around a steel pipe about the size you need. Bends nice and evenly. Looks like you bought it!

Another option, most any suspension shop has almost any size you need. They can be pricey, tho.
