Silverware drawer
Ok maybe this is a little silly and maybe not. Custom silverware tray made to fit the drawer.

Not silly at all. I hate when things don't fit right.
Nice job.

Agreed the drawer is deep enough to double up and that is an option we are keeping open. The bottom layer will not be as convenient so it needs to be just the right stuff. When we ID the right stuff we can put rails into the drawer to lift the silverware tray.

Did something similar in our XLR. I cut the back of the drawer down, made some wooden tracts and ordered 2 cut to size trays. One for flatware and one utility.

Where did you get the cut to size trays? This is exactly what I need.

Was about to ask the same question. Interested to know where you got custom trays from

That looks like a REV-A-SHELF that we used in our 5er. Pricey but awesome stuff - and you do not need a table saw; a miter-box works just fine!

Maybe after I've finished a few other mods.
Don't have a table-saw, which would probably make a neater job of trimming, but perhaps I could try with dremel or circular saw

Just noticed that rev-a-shelf do plastic/polystyrene cut-to-size inserts, in addition to the wooden ones

Yes I used the rev a shelf brand and cut them down on the table saw. I have a cabinet shop so I get a little price break.

I measured the kitchen drawers in our rockwood yesterday, and unfortunately the minimum depth for those cut-to-size inserts (17 3/4") is deeper than our drawers (15 3/4" deep, by 13 3/8" wide)
but it does look like I could use the wooden inserts, if I can cut them neatly.
(I don't have a table-saw, but perhaps could get one, or use a dremel, or a jigsaw with a fine blade)
