sky light

We recently camped with some friends who have a new Jayco that has a great 16 X 32 inch skylight in it. I'm considering locating one like it and installing it in our 5th wheel a 28RKWS. Does anyone know what the standard framing layout for the roof of Forest River coaches? Typically residential truss framing is either 16" OC or 24" OC, are RVs similar? Or perhaps they are 48" OC? Any thoughts would help.

You may want to review all the threads about people painting their skylights to cut down on the heat that they pass through. I'd get rid of it, but it does add a couple inches of headroom in the shower where its located.

I painted mine for three reasons.

1) It was old , faded and discolored
2) To reduce the heat it let into the MH.
3) Reduce the light it lets into the MH

It won't do MACH 2, but I can get a sandwich and take a pee.

skylight

Waiter21, thanks for the reply. Our main room has tinted windows and is usually pretty dark. The sky light I saw in our friends trailer had a real neat sun shade tied into it. I am trying to look into ways of getting a little more room light in the main room without turning on electrical lights.

Funny...

I am doing all I can to cover up my skylights. I have two regular ones that now have the reflective "plugs" in them... and one in the shower I am not sure what I will do yet.
