Clean the skylight on the outside with soap and water, then let dry. Tape off the skylight and paint with 3-4 coats of Gloss White Krylon Paint. All the light comes in, no heat though.

Go to a store that sells baby clothes or a Walmart and buy a package of the stick on sun shades that people put in the car windows to shade the kids. They work great and they stick on in about 5 seconds and come right of when not needed. They really keep the heat out very well. I thought my wife was nut when she put it up but !!!!!

I was trying to keep the major portion of the sun off the bubble as it deteriorates too fast and becomes brittle and subject to breaking pretty easily.

Turn the bubble over and use as a bird bath.

If you use 303 Protectant the plastic cover will stay like new. It needs to be applied when you first buy your unit. Apply every 6 weeks. Works great and this is what the aircraft industry uses.

My new camper came with the sun shade which was nice.

Great solution, used full can, 4 coats. I have reflectix on the interior, which no longer is warm to the touch. The paint & Reflectix is a 1-2 knock out punch for keeping the heat out. Paint is an aesthetically pleasing option to protect the skylight against the elements. Time will tell on durability, mine will be the true test, salt air and full sun, 24/7, 365 days a year.

Durability is my concern with the paint. Wandering if the sun would but it off and eventually look worse like it does on my deck. I made a shade from an old car privacy shade but here my concern is super heating the bubble. It gets very hot between the shade and the bubble. ?Definitely will use the 303, though.

I wonder if the body shop sprayed it and put the clear coat on, like on the coach body, if that would work.

The only way to keep from super heating the bubble is to put a shield over the bubble instead of just painting it. Even the surface of white cars get hot.
