Slide Out Topper Installation

I am looking at ordering a slide out topper (84") and I see that it comes with an awning rail. Our trailer (Surveyor 189) has a rail (the same as on the passenger side) over the slide. My question is ... for those that have installed a Dometic slide topper, can I just use the existing awning rail or do I have to install a special rail that is included with the topper?

If the opening for the awning is the same and the length is correct, there is no reason to change the rail.
