slip-on shoes

This is the new way I use my jack pads..... I had my jack pads screwed to the jack base since new, but was always concerned about the extra 1 1/2" dragging/catching on something sooner or later. Two months ago leaving a parking lot, the decline down to the road was so steep that I know for sure the back two pads would have touched the pavement. So much so, that I went around the back of the restaurant and left the parking lot from the entrance we had come in. .... It was very convenient having them attached, no kicking each one around several times trying to get them centered correctly under the jack base, but the possibility of them dragging on something was always there. This idea eliminates the trouble involved with centering them under the jack, and yet they're also easily removed for travel. .... The photos show how I attached a piece of thick plastic(from 5" vinyl post) to hold them to the jack base. They slip on and off very easy, my wife slides them onto the jack bases while I'm un-hitching, and I pull them off when retracting the jacks to leave. We've used them on two trips now and I couldn't be more please with how well they work..... I'll paint them as soon as I get some black paint for plastic..........

Pretty inventive.
The older and fatter I get, the more I appreciate anything that minimizes the amount of time I spend bent over!

I forgot the handles

I had forgotten about these handles,..... just found them this morning and I had bought them for this purpose, $1 each at a flea market......the pads will function just as well without them, but it just seems like they add a little class to an otherwise very common item of rving..... now gotta get that paint...............
