Stove/oven vent motor fix

Failed on second use. Was using all three burners. The heat fuse in the motor tripped. Requires replacing motor, or soldering in a new fusable link.

When installing replacement motor ($9 amazon) the cause is clear. The bracket used to mount the motor in the hood covers the air flow holes in the motor! Drilled out the bracket to make it swiss cheese like, which will allow the motor to have air intake pushed in by the fan blades.

The stock motor was .85 or .9 amp, the replacement is 1.5 amp and has enough rpm/flow to push the vent flap full open.

Remove your vent grill. Look up. If you cannot see the motor getting air flow on the face, through the bracket, take it out, remove the bracket, and see if swiss cheesing the bracket will open up air flow.

Hengs hood and motor. Probably applies to others as well.
