The dreaded sideways sink
When we purchased our 2004 Flagstaff 25LB we knew we loved it and it was in great shape and not a huge hit on our budget for our first RV.
We also knew that we were making one HUGE compromise, the bathroom. I had my eyes on a 2011 23FB with a "garden shower" bathroom which seemed like a very useable bathroom. We were unable to make a deal, and so when we came across this trailer we jumped on it, with the caveat that we would have to do something about the bathroom. On our very first trip our fears about the bathroom were confirmed, the sink is useless. It has the dreaded, absolutely mind bogglingly stupid sideways sink. I had seen them on many trailers in our research and I knew I would avoid it all costs, but here we are with our sideways sink in which you cant wash your hands because they don't fit under the faucet and you can't wash your face because you'll knock yourself out on the medicine cabinet and throw all the water on the floor. It is a disgrace and certainly the biggest failure in the design of this trailer.
We NEED to do something about it.
Anyone been through this? Come up with any clever solutions?
My thought is to use a "belly bowl" or "euro vanity" style sink, so the counter profile will be the same (which is only about 12 inches) but the round front of the sink will stick our farther, but hopefully not impede movement too much. Another option is to use a vessel sink, with a counter mounted faucet in the corner. Then we will remove the medicine cabinet and replace it with a mirror and move the medicine cabinet (or a new one) to the side wall over the toilet.
I'd love to hear from anyone who's dealt with this situation, especially if you have any pictures you can share.

that has got to be the goofiest sink i have ever seen. i thought our sink in our 17rp was weird, it swings left to right, outside of the actual sink bowl. which could be an issue (has not been so far). it might offer a solution for you. better handles instead of knobs, sticks way up in the air to get hands/face under, pivots all over the place.

Yeah, we're certainly going to go with a bigger, taller faucet at the bare minimum, and we'd like to go with a single handle unit because I find you use a lot less water with a single handle faucet because you can just kind of slap it on and off quickly.

the sink looks fine . It's the placement of the faucet that's bonkers

Yes, the placement AND type of faucet are insane! But the sink is minuscule, which again is compounded by the fact that the medicine cabinet protrudes from the wall about 5 inches.

Mr Towed. Yes it is the same sink and faucet. Awful way to put a sink in.

Good to hear it, might have to do something like that, at least in the meantime to make it functional. It's just pointless as it is.
We plan to replace the entire countertop to upgrade the look as part of a bathroom update.

We don't have your problem, but I like the idea of the vessel sink with a long necked faucet. Perhaps one where the faucet pulls out.
I've never seen a euro vanity before but it looks cool if it'll fit.
That sink does a little like someone said 'oops, we forgot to put the sink in the plans.'

I'm thinking the vessel sink with the faucet mounted in the corner. I was giving serious though to the same type of thing, for our 2015 26WFKSS. The vanity sink was about the size of a tea cup.
I came real close to buying a vessel sink, and then another option surfaced for free.
The drain may be pretty close to the front inside the cabinet, but it gets the faucet out of the way, and if you use a solid surface material for the counter, it should look really nice when finished. Way better then whats there.
If you can do the work yourself, it should keep the cost down a bit.

We have that same sink. I object to the fact the handles seemed reversed but other than that, no big issues. I can brush teeth and wash hands...as far as washing my face, I don't splash my face. A washcloth works fine. Mostly we use the kitchen sink.
