Thinking of upgrading ceiling fan in bathroom
Need a new project. We have one vent fan in our 5er and it is in the bathroom. It does a fine job of controlling odors. But it does a terrible job of helping with air movement in the 5er so we run the a/c unit(s) for that. Well, the a/c fan draws 500W and the vent fan should draw less. Also might help for days like today when I am going out to pick up the 5er to go camping and I know it will be 120 deg F in the trailer. Figure a good vent fan will help the a/c get it cool inside faster.
Am I thinking right or should I find another project?

The inexpensive replacement fan is the Hueng off Amazon for under $100. Huge difference in flow, full size fan, 3 forward , 2 reverse speeds.

You guys discussing a ceiling fan or an exhaust fan? Ceiling fan seem dangerously low in a trailer. Google search for Hueng fan gets me some obscure author named Huang Fan.

Here’s the best, quickest upgrade to your bathroom exhaust fan. And, as a bonus, it can be done from inside the bathroom. No need to go up on the roof to do damage to any factory sealant.

Just installed the hengs fan in my Wolfpup. I think it’s worth it. It probably doesn’t move as much air as the more expensive versions according to YouTube reviews, but is worlds better than the puny stock fan, and also can reverse and bring in cold air. Not a miracle worker, but worth the cost and savings in labor.

Thanks. Wasn't my typo though...
I'll keep this fan in mine if my bathroom fan dies.

I replaced a dead bathroom fan in my 2020 Sabre with this.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BRFW78M5...roduct_details
I did have to get on the roof though because the rubber lip seal that seals against the cover was deteriorated and leaked if it rained hard.
It's much better than the small fan that was in there.
I can't yet say how much better it works. I'll know in a couple weeks.

An even lest costly option is the original Hengs Vortex fan upgrade kit. It is $60 on Amazon. It is single high speed and not reversible. I had it in my cargo trailer conversion, which was stolen; and now I have it in my Wolf Pup 16FQ.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001NYYSLY...roduct_details
Also if you would like variable speed, you can add a digital motor speed control for $10 from Amazon.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00F839VNQ...t_details&th=1
The control installation and the fan kit installation are simple and easy. Like the Vortex II upgrade, the entire process is done from the inside with no ceiling/roof modification. However, the final result is not reversible like the Vortex II. So if reversibility is important to you, or the 15 minute installation of the speed control is a negative, then the extra $80 for the Vortex II may be worth it.
Either way, enjoy the flow.

Yup, I misspelled it. HENGS
Full size fan with a collar so all air get pushed through or by the fan.

We have two of the Maxx air vent fans. The one in the bath is all manual. You can reach it from the commode. We have the optional crank that has a rod to allow the DW or I to open it from a seated position. The fan turns on with the opening of the fan.
Install the cover at the same time. Therefore you can use it in the rain.
The fan is sufficient for those power out days to cool the bed nicely. Low amperage. $140 or so. We have used ours often as we have seen at least 1 campground power failure per year.
We use it in hot weather to help the ac get going as well.
We have the fancy one in the main salon. All the automatic features and a remote. Used mainly in the cooking thing.

I would like to upgrade the fans in my Salem FSX 161qk but the vent covers have a pull latch with a gear that locks into place to open and close them versus the traditional twist knob that opens and closes the vent cover. A lot of the video tutorials I've seen for installing the hengs vortex fan only shows the twist knob version. Does anyone know if the pull latch gear vent cover will not be compatible?

Installed the Maxxair Deluxe fan today. That was an easy remove and replace. Much better airflow and I like all the features. Sure wish I was brave enough to install one in the bedroom and rear living area. Would certainly reduce a/c run time.

Probably the best upgrade I've made to our camper is installing 2 x MAXXAIR Maxxfan Deluxe With Remote
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002OW5JG2/?th=1
You will need a roll of butyl tape and a tube of dicor self leveling sealant for the install. They are pricey but what isn't on an RV? Worth every penny, 10 speeds, the lid opens automatically and can be used in the rain or left open while driving down the road and they have the ability to exhaust or intake air. They move a-lot of air on 100%!

Fan-Tastic Fan
I had the ordinary vents replaced with Fantastic fans that have a thermostat and also reverse. They might be a bit pricey, but they work wonderfully to remove the build-up of hot air. This is my second RV with them since 1998 and I can't imagine ever going without them. Almost a requirement if you have a pet.

We have 2 Maxair deluxe with remotes.
There are cheaper and easier retrofits but having worry free utility in the rain and no reaching problems, is well worth it to us.
