Tinting door window for privacy
I recently purchased a MicroLite 21DS from a private seller, and he had the entry door glass replaced with clear glass so he could look out. It's nice being able to look out, but that takes away your privacy, especially since people can see in at night. I could put a shade or curtain on the door or over it, but I would rather tint than pursue those options.
I've done some Google searching and understand that there are tints called "limo tints" where you would be able to see out but not in, even with the lights on inside at night. Does anyone here have any experience with such products?

In most vehicles, you can see through most limo tint if the light is on the inside. I would put con-tact paper on it. That would blur but allow the light to pass much like what would've been on the camper from the factory.

I tinted all the windows with limo tint. You cannot see in the camper in the day time or at night , even with the lights on. I mainly did it to reduce the amount of heat that would come in through the windows with the sun shining on them. Living in Arizona every little bit helps.

After some research, I found that even with limo tint, you'd have to avoid using bright lights in the camper at night, and with all the LEDs my unit has, that ain't happenin'!
So I came across this on Amazon...

...and decided to give it a shot. Provides the best of both worlds. I'll let you know what I think when it arrives and I get it installed.

I've tried tinting myself and had it done professionally. IMHO it's worth the money to have a pro do it.

We've used used this on both of our entry doors and bought the night shades. We love them. Easy to install. Well worth the expense.

What do your night shades look like and how are they installed?
My research told me that the tint alone doesn't prevent others from seeing in at night, no matter how dark it is.

They are a soft vinyl that roll up and snap on to itself. They're attached to the screen door by magnets. It's a real nice setup. Doesn't look cheesy at all. The tint matches perfectly.

Can you take a pic of your shade? Attaches to the screen door?

Unfortunately your pic doesn't show the inside, which is what we are interested in.

I got a piece of tinted plexiglass to the same as the rest of the TT cut. $10 and did the re&re in 20 minutes. This weekend I'm gonna put 4 snap screws into the door and then attach a free off-cut of vinyl to be my privacy shade over that door window.
No way I'll lay out over $100 for something I can do almost free.

Tinting door window for privacy
I'll be at the trailer later today and take pics from the inside. I'll also take pics of shade.

Here's the pics
I added stronger magnets so it stays put when opening and closing the screen door.

I'll be quite interested to hear your impressions. I currently use a hand towel with clothespins on the valence for those campsites with overbearing night lighting.
As an aside, my 21DS has the cherry trim and the wood simulated vinyl floor which makes the camper rather dark. I'm like the untinted privacy glass for letting more light through during those days when keeping the door open is uncomfortable. I would consider installing the shade only or possibly replacing the privacy glass with clear glass as well.

I think this is a more elegant solution. The picture from the inside with the shade closed was taken with direct sunlight beating on it.

Tinting door window for privacy
That's awesome! Agreed that is a more elegant solution. Nice job! Does the glass come with the kit?

Yes. Real tinted glass. The window I replaced was tinted plexiglass.

Can you open the shade without opening the door?
