Toilet seat mod. for 183 Anyone?

Has anyone done a mod to replace their toilet seat. My wife absolutely hates the one that comes with the unit. I don't know if that is a standard seat or is this something that will require more than a few screws? Thanks.

Most RV toilets have special seats that aren't changeable to another style, however there are a few that accept regular household type seats.

Let us know what make and model toilet you have and we can tell you if you can change the seat.

I noticed that it looks pretty much what you got is what you get. We have a shamrock 183. It looks like it molded to the toilet itself.

Your RV is a Shamrock 183, but that doesn't tell us what the brand and model the toilet is?

Thetford and Dometic make models that use a residential seat. If you want to change it out, you can find one.

does she hate it because is squeaks if so it is a plastic toilet the only cure is to replace with a porcelain one if it is a dometic you probably have a 300 model you can replace with a 310 model that is porcelain. just had to change ours to make the DW happy.

Just replaced our cheep plastic toilet with the Dometic 310 porcelain with the soft close seat and lid. Got it on sale at Camping World. I think this is my best mod yet.
