Using a Coachmen APEX 215RBK in winter
Has anyone prepared an APEX for winter camping? I'll be in Colorado in Sept/Oct with some low temps possibly well below freezing. I am mainly concerned with keeping the pipes from freezing.
There is easy access from the bottom to the grey and black water tanks and it looks like heating pads and heating coil wraps on the pipes with insulation will work. And/or I could just add some anti-freeze. Any advice on AC vs DC? I'm thinking AC on the pads and DC on the outlet piping to potentially help unfreeze at a dump station.
But what about the fresh water tank and associated plumbing? It is concealed behind interior cupboards and there doesn't appear to be easy access. Anyone try to provide heat to these? I'll also get a heated hose and make sure incoming water is somewhat warm to help.
