Water Filter

Has anyone changed their water filter and the location? The original FR1 replacement filter is expensive. Plus mine is installed over the water pump and you do not have enough room to change filter unless you tilt the housing and still have problems doing so.

Thanks Tervio

Yop, took mine completely out and just use a filter on the end of the hose.

Lots of reports of these filters cracking and flooding trailers. Remove it.

Put in a 1/2" coupler from Home Depot. 67 cents.

toddupton and rockfordroo have given you the best advice, ... go with an outside-the-trailer filter, ... the Camco blue one, ...

Smartest move. Anything that involves water...inside a the trailer...= BAD !
We're thinking we'll go 5er next year and I'm documenting many of the issues addressed out here and I'd consider yours as "High Priority".

Thanks for the suggestions, I will do something soon. I have seen other comments about that filter housing but out of sight-out of mind until I'm cleaning up a mess!

Thanks for the help

water filter

we already had KW1/FR1 filters so we thought we would use them.
here is a filter holder that we purchased and then how
it looks in-line at our site . works well for our needs.

after reading all of the horrific threads on this issue i had to make
it a priority and remove it asap and make the alterations.

hope this helps

No. My TracerAIR TT didn't come with a factory water filter.

I would ask other Wildcat owners, in the Wildcat sub-forum.

I buy replacement filters at WalMart or Lowe's or Home Depot. My fifth wheel holds a 10" x 2.5" filter that is much less expensive at these stores. I've had these on our current and past three trailers...no flooding, no leaking - just good, clean-tasting water.
