Where can i buy this rack?!

I just bought a 2018 Arctic Wolf 265dbh8. Mine did not come with a rack on the back. I really like the racks that come on some Forrest River units, but can't find anyplace to buy them online. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

There are 2 additional pieces of channel welded to the bottomside of the main frame at the rear of the camper. I assume this is for an aftermarket hitch. However, i'd prefer to mount a rack like the one shown below.

This style of the rack was also on our 2015 Wildcat Maxx, even with the spare tire mounted on it similarly to the one in the photo. As for this exact setup, I would expect it would be a "Forrest River" accessory and might be gotten directly from them or through your dealer and they could install it.
On ours, We never really used it even after I moved the spare to under the trailer with a BAL under mount spare tire holder. Ours had the sticker saying a 250-pound max weight limit and with the spare tire on it, I always felt it would be too much weight on the rack and the lever of the weight at the edge of the rack.
After moving the spare, and I felt comfortable to use it as a bike holder, it was too small to carry more than 2 bikes on it so we never used it.
There have been quite a few threads about these racks! There are similar racks around but not mounted as the ones that come from the factory as far as I have seen.

Call or write Anna Miller in the Forest River Parts Department and give her your VIN #. She has helped me get a variety of OEM parts for my unit.

That rack is made by LCI (Lippert) and it's shown on their website LCI Storage Systems

The rack is cheap- shipping is not. Was going to be $800 for it to come to me on west coast

One quick fix would be to go ahead and install the rear hitch. You can get similar racks at Manards, Home Depot, and almost any farm store for around $80. They slide into your receiver hitch. This way, when it's not needed you can quickly take it off.

Our Grey Wolf has it and I remember reading somewhere that the bumper is extended when the rack option is selected by the dealership.

Willie1280, let me know what you figure out with your bikes and kayaks. Our Surveyor Sport 220RBS comes with the fold down tailgate, but I have yet to figure out how to put the bikes on it. I have 2-10 ft kayaks taking up space in my garage that I would love to bring along. Happy travels.

I've been pulling my Thule 990XT on 2 different trailers for 6 seasons now. I'd hardly call it junk.

Might want to think 2x about adding things to the rear bumpers.

A quick search of the forum (above right) will show even more horrors of bumper mounted bikes

Yes, don't just clamp something to the bumper.

See Post #2 here for the beefed up hitch on my Roo and Post #12 for the beefed up hitch on my Mini Lite:

A thread worth a read before adding anything to the rear bumper.

Pretty sure i'm going to purchase a Yakima rack to go over my crew cab and get 3 sets of J hook/bars to hold the kayaks.

I totally understand about not mounting to the bumper.

So i'm wondering what are the 2 pieces of channel for in this photo that have the 4 slotted holes? If i mount something to that, aren't i still technically mounting to the bumper?!

So i just talked with Lippert who makes the frame for my trailer in addition to the bike racks and they said i need the 180098 rack shown here https://store.lci1.com/flip-down-bike-rack

$359 plus $100 for S&H to my door.

Only watchout is i need to measure the distance between camper wall and backside of square tube bumper to make sure it's at least 3.75"

Willie:

1. Those channels on your frame look like they are for mounting stabilizing jacks. I'm assuming you have some other stabilizing system??

2. Another option to consider is A-frame (tongue) mounted racks. There are several manufacturers. Lippert just came out with their own:

https://www.lci1.com/jack-it

Here's another:

you should be able to order one thru the dealer that you bought your camper from. but first does your bumper have a sticker on it stating that adding any additional equipment on your bumper may void warranty? most have that if they do not have a rack when sold
