My landline is on a plan with my cable. I have 'NOMOROB0' set up for it. If I get just one ring the caller gets a standard message from 'NOMOROBO', meaning they detected that was a robo call. If it goes to a second ring they get a nice tone from my printer expecting the call to be a fax.

Anyone that really wants to get a hold of us needs to call one of our cell phones. All others there is snail mail.

For known spam calls I sometimes answer using my best. and fairly loud, radio announcer voice.

"Hello, and congratulations, you are lucky caller number five. How about that luck, listeners, we have a $5,000 grand prize winner here. So, who are we talking to?"

Usually followed by silence or the hangup click. But, I once had a telemarketer actually ask how to claim the money. Told him to come to our studio address in Atlanta, which was actually the address of a police substation in the highest crime area in that city. Unfortunately the caller told me he was in Chicago.

Unfortunately, my landline is a home business line, which is always forwarded to my cell/mobile phone, so I have no idea which number they're calling.

Additionally, the caller ID is usually a local number, so it could be a real client, and since these scammers are known to "spoof" phone numbers, I can't block them in case the real phone number owner wants to reach me in the future.

Of course there are also those calls that show as "telemarketer", "scam likely" or "nuisance likely" ... you know, the ones that say I can lower my credit card interest rate if I just verify my credit card number or that my social security number has been suspended.

The local number scams are usually for solar panels, I won a complimentary, all inclusive vacation at "name brand" resort - again, all I need to do is give them $499 on my credit card right now because this offer is a one time deal (until they call tomorrow).

If I'm not in the middle of anything I'll play their game.

If I'm busy I think the "air horn in a can" might be a fun toy.

Or a laugh box that you can let run continuously with the phone next to it.

I’ve always lied to my girlfriends before, but I just can’t get away with it since I’ve been dating Steffi Graff’s sister, Polly.

Pulling Polly's plug will help you carry on with your tradition.

What's the difference between a general practitioner and a specialist?

One treats what you have, the other thinks you have what he treats.

How can you tell if a doctor is a quack?

By the size of his bill, of course.
