I am so glad to hear that others saw this.
I still love the original Star Trek.....but never, never wanted to be on the red team.

Some people thought this Coronavirus mess would be over quickly, and we’d have plenty of spaces to camp by now. Short-sited thinking.

I hope the bars reopen soon.

I need somewhere to go to cut down on my drinking.

April 1st, also known as April Fools Day was named after the Victorian entrepreneur David Michael Fool.

David was the son of a wealthy banker and was involved in lots of early tech startups, invariably funded by his dad. Who can forget the tempest prognosticator, the automatic smoking machine, the multipurpose cane and the ladies bicycle protector. These and many other ventures all failed miserably costing his father a small fortune and bankrupting David himself several times.

He married a maid and she bore him several different children.

On the 1st of April every year he would appear at a well known London Gentlemen’s Club with a new business proposition, such was his enthusiasm that the day eventually became known as April Fool’s Day.

Eventually his wife left him, not because of his myriad business failings but because of his propensity for reading false news.

Just like you are doing right now.

I used one like this BEFORE area codes. LD calls were handled by operators.

Direct dial didn't start until 1951.

I knew something was up when I read "she bore him several different children".

Party line days. As a kid I found calls on them to be extremely interesting.

Everyone on the party line had a different ring code.

If you could be absolutely sure you covered the mouthpiece, and not make a sound......you were “hacking” their conversation.

Hang up after your call-pick receiver Bach up and the two old gossip ladies on your party line be talking about your conversation. They were on every call.
