i also do the minimalist, ultralight, survival camp stuff where my pack for a 3 day weekend (including food - find and filter water on the way) weighs in under 16 lbs good for weather down to 40F. i have camped outdoors down past -14F sleeping by the fire.
my buddies call that camping. they call what i do in the rv remote backyard picnicking. lol... there;s some truth to that...
that first picture the OP posted rings true to both extremes of camping i do... the ultralight and high tech gear is crazy expensive... but it works well.
