TIE Fighters are not hyperspace capable, so it couldn't possibly need a new hyperdrive. Sounds like a scam to me.

FWIW

At work I will ask a customer if they saw Star Wars? Usually yes. Then I say this may not work.
I will then wave my hand and say something like.... you only need 3 of these(as that was all I had) or 3000# fittings will work...etc.
I always have fun at work.
