I like reading the truck fun threads myself.
If we post within the "Play Nice Rule" this thread will survive. More often then not they heat up, turn into my trucks better then yours arguments and get closed.

[QUOTE=drittal;1034331]It's satire, bud. Nobody is putting a 5,000lbcamper in the back of a 3/4t. Let's rephrase that, nobody with half a mind.

The power wagon is the only 2500 model that recommends no slide in camper. All the others are ok if you stay within limits. They are a pregressive rate coil and sag less than the new F250 with their light leafs.

I think you might have to read the specs. My F250 has heavier spring packs than a F350 because of how it is optioned. I have Camper Package and rear stabilizer bar. Buddy at work has a Ram 2500 and can not wait to get rid of it, he tows a 24 ft bumper pull and says it handles like a noodle, wants his Ford back.

I was told the other day that the 450 and 550 chassis has the engine detuned and that was the reason they have so much engine problems but not for sure. The Cummins is a proven engine and I will stay with that until Ram quits installing them which I hear they plan to.

I've got a BIL that works as a mechanic for a fleet in the DFW area. They run several 6.7's and he said they've been completely trouble free except for a few minor issues. Many of them have over 200K. I ditched a 2011 6.7 because I was afraid the HPFP issue would turn into a major ordeal but it appears as though it's primarily lack of maintenance or using fuel of unknown quality. I do agree that the Cummins is the more proven engine, however. I predict that Ram HD sales will drop significantly if they stop using the Cummins engine.

First off this is not a subjective test at all. This is the fast lane truck who was invited to a media event held by Ford motor company. Guess who wins when Ram or Chevy put on a media event. All of the big 3 trucks can get the job done and be reliable if properly maintained.

Almost any vehicle can be reliable if properly maintained and unreliable if run hard and not maintained. I have had 2 Chrysler minivans an 02 that i ran to 150k with no trouble and my 2010 now with 120k and no trouble. A guy I use to work with had 320k on his 99. I work at a shop and have seen 3 honda vans need heads just over 100k. It is well noted that a lot of powerstoke engines have had to be replace prematurely. I have talked to couple of guys that it has happend to. 1 only had 60k on the engine, but I have also seen guys with 150k on the 6.7 powerstrokes with no problems. I have a 06 ram 3500 cummins with 160k on it and it has been flawless. With that being said i wouldn't hesitate to own any of the big 3 trucks as I take very good care of my vehicles and feel any would be reliable for me.

Looking at the window stickers of the Dodge trucks in stock at the local dealer I noted that the 2500 trucks were made in Mexico, reason enough for me to avoid buying one. The 1500s were made in Michigan though, that's cool.

I've no beef with vehicles made in high wage nations such as Canada and I own an Edge that was made up there.

You have the camper package. The ones that do not have long 2 leaf springs for improved ride that sag easily. Some owners claim after a little while they are nearly on the overloads when empty. One fix is the 4" f350 block vs 2" f250. Unless they like that bull dog look...

Of course, but when I've a choice I buy American or from high wage nations. And between a Dodge 2500 built in Mexico and a Ford Super Duty built in Kentucky one has a choice. That I don't always have a choice doesn't mean I should disregard the choices I have.

So how come 500,000 Ram trucks were just recalled? I'm on my 5th Ford and the latest is a 2015 F150 King Ranch. The quietest truck ever and that Ecoboost will pull the Ram and whatever it's pulling too. Two of my friends Ram pickups get worse gas mileage with their Hemi's than I do with the Eco.

GM 1500's made in Mexico as well. The Toyota Corolla made in my hometown is also going to Mexico in 2 years. They are making more Rav 4's here including the hybrids along with Lexus. Down the road 25 miles they make more Rav 4's in Woodstock as well.

Don't care where it's made. Are those same line workers going pay you when your truck when it breaks down after warranty? No. They all have issues t some point.
I'd rather be Cummins than Strokin anyway.
