Hahahahahaha. This is a good one. I am from New England (specifically MA). Not doing "that" (pictured) was specifically taught in drivers ed. I now live in Maryland, and I actually think it is taught the other way, seriously. I refer to it as "The Maryland road block". It is also the origin of a LOT of road rage (witnessed with my own eyes the frustration created after a long day at work and a longer commute home). I personally think MA gets a lot of stuff wrong, but in this case they got it very right (no pun intended).

My observation is that it is a big problem in the east, both north and south. Out west it is rarely a problem except in CA. I find the best, most courteous drivers are in MT, WY, both Dakotas, UT, ID, OR, and WA. Major exception is in the big cites. Then it gets ugly in many ways.

I find including WA on this list to be a mistake. We not only have rude drivers here, we have a bunch that express their road rage with gunfire. It's a rare evening or morning newscast that isn't showing video of the results.

WA does issue tickets for those behaving like shown in the picture---- even if driving the posted speed.

I do recall an experience in S Dakota years back that was a head shaker. Woman pulled on the Eastbound interstate at East end of Rapid City, right in front of wife and I. She moved to a position straddling the center line and stayed there for miles and miles.

Not sure if she was trying to enforce the posted speed limit-------or was just uncomfortable being too close to the shoulder on either side.

Now with that said, I took this photo while going over the Santiam pass on hwy 20 (see their plate?)

If you want to post a meme. I found the only way I could do it is to put some character like "???" in the reply box then hit Go Advanced and click Manage Attachments (like adding a picture) then preview and post and then if its what I wanted post. There may be a better way I just haven't found it.

There are two ways:

1. Hit Reply, then Go Advanced (no need to add junk text), then click either Manage Attachments or the Paperclip icon (they do the same thing), select the file, click upload, close the file dialog, click Post (no need to click Preview).
2. Capture the URL of the meme where you found it with right-click-->Copy Image Address. Hit Reply, then Go Advanced, then click the Image icon (postcard with mountain and sun). Paste the link of the meme. Alternatively, manually enter these two tags [IMG] and [/IMG] and paste the link between them.

Correct, to post anything here in the forums requires a minimum 3 character text count. I usually just put three periods (...) and then the post along with the attachment will go thru.

Bobby, I've never encountered that requirement. Look at this post, for example.

It looks like maybe the user's signature is counted, so maybe it's because I always use a sig.
