The wings are more convex or curved on top, more straight on the bottom. As the air goes over the wing by the thrust provided by the engine it creates a effect on the wing called lift. So yes, it is magic.

Pilots started leaving their pointed wizard hats at home since they would get blown off during the pre-flight walk around, but yes, it is magic.

You win - it's called "Bernoulli's Principal". Look at a wing profile and as stated, the top of the wing is curved while the bottom is flat. As air moves across the wing,it takes longer to reach the trailing edge of the wing than air moving across the bottom to reach the trailing edge - thus you get lift because of the difference in pressure. That's a simple way of stating it,but it's correct.

Would that have anything to do with Bernoulli's principle?

Hmmm - and you claim you're an Airframe & PowerPlant certificate holder?

I'm thinking a reexamination might be in order here - what's your PMI name and telephone number?

That information can be found. Yep - lose your A&P and your IA is gone also.
