OK, WM.........here's a true story. Think on it.

I'm 68. Raised and live in a rural area. I've seen a lot of critters.

3 months ago or so, I was headed home on a 4 lane US highway. In addition, it has a center lane for turning. It is busy, it's about the only way to get to Missouri from this state! (We don't have N/S roads, just expectations and wisps of two-tracks).....LOL

Anyway.......

A skunk ran across the road in front of my truck. ALL THE WAY across. Have you ever seen a skunk run? Their butt is higher than their head. They don't run straight, they run sorta like I'm walking lately........caterwampus. But he made it. Somehow, some magic way, he missed every single car, and hit the ditch on the other side.

And it hit me...........in Three Score and Eight, that was the first time I'd ever, ever seen a skunk cross the road..........
