Funny you say that. Back when I was geocaching and going to many events, one of my good friends in Mississippi presented me with a pair of lug nuts he had welded to a small chain between them and painted them gold. He bestowed the title upon me as Lord of the Lugnuts.
It became a running joke in our group.

I don't think I'd decide the purchase of a car on the presence or absence of a full-size spare. Just figure the cost of a spare into the cost of the car.

Yep but if the tire gets shredded, what do you do? There was a package included that the nearby Chrysler dealers would come to your side. When she needed it in north ms, they couldnt even get that tire size!! We got bit on this one.

Many vehicles won't have a designated place to carry a spare tire. You may just have to leave it in the trunk taking up space. I started a thread on this no spare trend several years ago. I'm probably going to move all this discussion over to it later this evening.

Ha, if we were in a Feudal system, I would be most likely the court jester albeit with a short lived career.

But since you have the title of the Lord of the Luguts you could appoint one of your serfs as your stand-in.

The last time I took the grandkids to the circus, a clown held the door open for us. I thought it was a nice jester.

I told them they would have to take that up with their insurance company....which they told me they only had liability and it didn't cover their car.
I informed them there was nothing I could do as they had used the tires now. They tried the old "if I yell loud enough, I can get my way" routine to no avail.
They added they would even take less money than the full price they paid to help with my mounting and balancing costs.
I was just shaking my head and offered they might could sell them on Craisgslist or such.
It was at this point they told me how nasty I was as they left.......and I came inside to withdraw my sainthood app.
Just a FYI, I'm taking my name off any list for consideration not because of what they said, but for what I was secretly hoping would happen to them after they left here. It was not saintly at all.

Bobby,
Saints wear halos. The hole in the middle allows for the crap [emoji90] from folks like that to escape your thoughts. The stronger you are the more challenges you get. We’re all with you.

I took the real direct, blunt approach with the last customer...and to my surprise it seemed to have worked.
He comes in saying I sold him bad tires and they already had the wire showing. I showed him how bad that his vehicle was out of align per the tire below and he wanted to argue it was the tire fault not his vehicle.
I looked at him and said I just wasn't in the mood this morning for ridiculous crap. I was expecting him to curse at me and maybe leave since he was so invested in his lies.
But to my astonishment he just laughed, and said it sounded like he needed to shut up and buy some tires...which he did.
I'm still kind of shocked.

Maybe I should hang a lot of pitchforks around the shop and see how it goes.
I bet my ex has a lot of extras she could loan me.
