Does the trailer still have a plate and VIN? Might have been a cheap way to get rid of it and a bunch of debris.

It may be abandoned. Let you deal with how to make it go away.

It has a permanent plate on it. I got a pic of the plate in case it's missing tomorrow

Was outside awhile ago talking to a customer. I noticed a SUV coming down the road with their back hatch up. I was kinda laughing and wouldn't you know it, they pulled in my driveway.
The woman got out of the vehicle and told me she needed a tire repaired on her driver front. She noticed her hatch open as I was walking towards it and exclaimed "How did that happen. Now I know why everyone was honking at me."

The owner just called about, wanting a price on three tires. Said he couldn't move it till those three tires were replaced. I told him it would be after two before I had a guy here to go out there and take them off by hand. He then asked could it get done quicker if he came up here and hooked it to his truck and pulled it over by the bays.
I assured him it would be quicker. He doesn't call till after noon, then is in a hurry. It is what it is.

I think the trailer owners brother (or at least first cousin) may have just left here. He had borrowed a trailer according to him and it had small 16 inch passenger car tires on it. Just blew one out if you can believe that.
Said he was about to start hauling wrecked vehicles on this trailer which I warned him against.

I've heard that some family trees in that part of the country have few branches which could make it hard to tell.[emoji57]

The trailer owner never showed up to move the trailer before we closed, nor pay for any tires so we left it as is.
It was gone this morning when I arrived

probably better that way anyway. unless you had some used mismatched trailer tires because that's what he would want...

They did want used when they called on phone but all we had were new.

If so he should have just left the trailer for the crusher or salvage.

Looked like the trailer was parked rather close to the road. If it was on the "right of way" which often extends a fair amount from the edge of the road, perhaps the police of highway department had it impounded

Lol.
The other person yesterday with the load of scrap metal said he was about to start hauling vehicles on that trailer. Don't know if I had any success in convincing them that the trailer tires had to be capable of supporting not only the weight of any vehicle he put on it but also the weight of the trailer itself added.

Doubtful. Probably has a relative that's been hauling cars on a trailer like his for years "with no problems".
