Just when many of us thought 2020 couldn't get worse.

How many Hurricanes does that make hitting LA this year?

Saw puctures on the news of all the debris piles still in place around Lake Charles from "Laura". Something tells me they've been redistributed by this latest storm.

Hopefully everyone is safe. Buildings and property are far easier to repair an/or replace.

Back in the '00s we had 4 hurricanes cross Florida in one year, but we weren't dealing with COVID, too.

Sorry for your property destruction Bobby. I hope all is soon restored and your neighbors, friends and relatives get through it all with the least inconvenience. Most of all that everyone remains safe.

When we went outside, an oak tree had fell across the shop at the house. The roof is now on the floor and three out of the four walls are blown out or destroyed. I can't get to the stuff underneath the roof to attempt to save it from the rain. I was able to pick up some stuff that was in the attic that got blown out one end of the gable. My biggest problem is that my houses electric is run underground from this shop. If it shorts out, then I'm going to also lose power at my house. The wall standing is the one with the breaker box, but it now has no roof over it, so the rain may short it out and I can't get to it with the roof collapsed

I could send you some wood from the west coast; it’s been heat treated.[emoji12]

Mike,

The local news over here in Spokane said that this is the fourth named storm to hit the same general area this season.

WMtire, your story about the lady following you around talking non-stop reminds me of when I was still working. I was a forklift driver for a local aerospace manufacturing company. Our customer ran their own trucks between Spokane and Renton/Everett and it was my job to load these trucks. The customer’s driver was a non-stop talking machine and while I’m trying to load his trailer he would walk beside me rattling on and on. Now this is next to a 5K forklift moving very heavy loads, not a very safe condition at all. The guy just loved to talk. Nicest guy in the world but sometimes he got just a bit annoying.

Car Race or Boat Race

"Delta" has moved over to NC and the Xfinity race is now being run in the rain. More like a boat race with "rooster tails" and all.

If this is the tail end of the Hurricane I can only imagine what it was like when it was at it's peak.

That was the most insane race I've ever seen!

Just watching some highlights of the race & I've seen demolition derbies that don't have that impact.

She doesn't have any money on her and wants to order a matching tire for the one on her car. It was her comment that was amusing.

She said "this is what happens when you don't have a husband."

I wanted to tell her that "no this is what happens when you run over things." However I bemused to her " I don't know about that, I've never had a husband and haven't had this happen to me.

I was hoping she would find it funny like I did. I failed.
I'm guessing she was going for the "Oh, you poor thing, let me just go ahead and order it for you without your paying for it in advance" reaction. If it's any consolation, apparently she failed, too.

Well, I didn't want to really say that....but that is usually what it amounts to.

I've heard these type things so many times over the years that I'm either immune or tone deaf to it.

Bobby, I just saw the post about all of the damage from the tree falling on your shop at home. So sorry to hear the news. I hope everyone came out of the storm OK, and that you're able to salvage some of the contents.

A lot of it is tools and they may be ok. The cabinets and or drill presses etc are crushed.

My mom had a lot of stuff stored in the attic. When we first went out there at 3 in the morning, some things in the attic had been blown out one of the gable ends onto the ground when the roof was collapsing.

As my son and I were standing in the rain assessing everything, I could see things strewn on the ground.

Here is the humorous part. I was telling my son I used to have this same kind of race track when I was a kid or I had this same game, etc. It was only when I saw one of my football helmets and number on it that I realized all that stuff was mine from my childhood. So we went to gathering up stuff during the rainstorm.

Ok, who can guess what happened to cause this problem for our last customer? And he didn't have brakes on the utility trailer.
