I don't know how many truck and semi trailer rims I have beat the rock dings out of and aired back up. When you work for a Sand and Gravel outfit you see some crazy thongs.

Maybe/maybe not -- but we all know someone is trying it somewhere as we speak/type.

"Saint Bobby and the Barbarians"?
Had no idea they published a book about my divorce.
Can you do me a favor and skip to the end, and let me know if I live thru it all. If not, I'm going to go ahead and shut down for the day. I mean what's the point. Thanks

Sorry, the last page says "To be continued..."
Methinks that means you're getting married again because, after all, "Barbarians" is plural...

I thought it was funny. I used it once and after later changing the tire, never again.

Shucks. That spare tire & wheel picture looks like a fella could just put the tire back on with one hand and have somebody else air it up. It might hold air. Looks like just the useless outer edges of the wheel bead surface are beat up to me.
If not, there's always that can of black stuff (tar?) that we used by request back in the '60's to lather and boot old tube-type bias-ply farm tires with unbelievably huge gashes in them. Guys told me they were just goin on their rake, but I seen them on their best old pick-ups later.
Smear black stuff on the bad, leaky bead spots... and have somebody else air it up. Maybe one of the new guys, when there's nobody else to witness how it goes.
That's because ifin it don't work, the third time's the charm and there's no sense quittin before then. Could put a used tube off the rack in it (try#3), if they still make them. That's why no witnesses for try#2... or nobody will ever air it up for ya agin. Word gits around when your not a dad-blamed quitter.

Well so much for a Saint Bobby.....as per the last customer, I'm "an evil, nasty person" (their words)
They had purchased two new tires a few weeks ago. They have since totalled the vehicle in a wreck and wanted me to refund their money on the two tires. I told them they would have to take that up with their insurance company....which they told me they only had liability and it didn't cover their car.
I informed them there was nothing I could do as they had used the tires now. They tried the old "if I yell loud enough, I can get my way" routine to no avail.
They added they would even take less money than the full price they paid to help with my mounting and balancing costs.
I was just shaking my head and offered they might could sell them on Craisgslist or such.
It was at this point they told me how nasty I was as they left.......and I came inside to withdraw my sainthood app.
Just a FYI, I'm taking my name off any list for consideration not because of what they said, but for what I was secretly hoping would happen to them after they left here. It was not saintly at all.

wmtire, you need a body cam - at least a fake one - strapped to your chest so these knuckleheads get the idea you're reporting their tirades!

Arguing with an auto mechanic of any kind is kind of like wrestling with a pig in the mud - eventually you realize they like it.

Interesting this should come up today. My wife bought the new Chrysler Pacifica, Electric Hybrid and it does NOT have a spare. They give you a little air compressor that has a cartridge of the green slime .
She had to use it today. Ok for around town maybe but if she has a problem on the interstate, that tire is toast and you have to get towed. We regret buying that car big time

I wouldn’t buy a vehicle with no spare. It’s ridiculous that a simple flat could result in a tow. Even if using roadside assistance to put the spare on (like what happened with my wife) at least it isn’t being towed.

It's not that the mechanics or Bobby likes arguing with customers. It's the ignorance of the customer who thinks they are always right and should get their way.
