F-R-A-G-I-L-E, I think it's Italian.

I have a good friend who is also a big fan of the movie. The last few years our local movie theater chain had an option where you could see 'A Christmas Story' for $100 that included 30 guests and you had the whole theater to yourself. There is nothing like seeing it on the big screen as it was intended.

It doesn't look that they are doing it this year (I guess post covid, they don't really need to). They did however say we could have a whole 125 tickets and theater for nearly $800. We took a pass.

Anyway, several of our friends/family who we have been inviting for this new tradition, were disappointed we weren't going to do it again. That got me to searching for other movie chains in towns a few hours away to see if they were doing anything similar, which led me to look at a place about 20 minutes from my house. They have an old theater that has been restored from 1928. This is the old kind that has the balcony, stage, and believe it or not, a grand chandelier (you brought it up)

Well Santa Claus is being good to us, as there are other local fans of this movie. They are actually showing the movie there in December. It's only $5 a ticket and that includes a drink and popcorn. Life is good.

Since you also mentioned historical, this theater is on the National Register of Historic Places.

We just watched “A Christmas Story Christmas.” One of the all-time best movie sequels ever.

Funny you mention that. I was watching that sequel a few days ago and the drunks in it got me laughing as for what is in my eyeline from where I was viewing it on the tv.

My friend who is also a huge fan of the movie brought me back a pack of this beer from Texas a couple years ago, that I keep on the counter.

Edit: Since this is a seasonal product (which is now), here is a link for anyone who may want same. I think my buddy picked ours up at a Kroger in north Dallas area. My daughter said she has seen it at H-E-B grocery stores too.

It's bad when even I can't decipher the redneck accent. Man called up on the phone asking for a price on "fix'n a tire".

I asked him what kind of vehicle was it on. He told me "a Verven". I asked him again what it was, and he told me it was a "Verven" again.

I told him I had never heard of that and then asked it that was a car, truck, van?

He said it was a SUV.

I then asked if he was saying a "Suburban"?

He said "yeah, that's what I am saying, a Verven".

My dad would always say, "Go get the 'burban"

I never knew if he was talking about the truck or the bottle.

The guy with the Verven called back again, asking how much to plug a tire this time. I told him we don't plug tires, but patch them from the inside.

He said it needed a plug "cuz the hole was in on the sidewall".

I told him I wouldn't be able to help him "cuz" that tire was junk.

Used to go to see "The Nut Cracker" at Wang Theater in Boston for many years. Has gotten so expensive (even just to park) that we no longer go.

my wife and i have been married for 10 years now and have been to the movies less than 6 times. we bought a few used projectors over the years and turned one of our rooms into a full blown theater. its so nice to pause movies for bathroom breaks or make your own unlimited "free" popcorn and drinks. plus with a 3 year old we make lots of potty breaks. it has paid for itself over the years.

I understand that they're now asking you to check out your own items a little faster so that you can go out back and help unload the truck.

I can and maybe I shouldn't say this but I have saw tape weights at my local Harbor Freight.

I'm sure glad that you didn't ask me if the wheel needs to be clean and dry for the tape weights to stick. I would hate to be accused of helping you in your mischief.
