Oil Field Trucks

I am in Karnes County/Kenedy, TX this week visiting some oil and gas wells my company owns. I was at dinner last night with my operator and a couple of our oil field magicians, asked them why they all drove Fords. One of the supes answered right away "we bought em cheap and ride em hard, driving a Ford out here means the boss buys us new trucks every couple of years"

As a "newly converted" Ram guy I found his answer funny. To be fair there seems to be an equal amount of each truck out here outfitted with enough equipment (aka toys - compressors, generators, tools) that we'd all be jealous.
