As stated, apples are ten. Two coconut halves are two. Two groups of four bananas are eight (making each single equal one).

Order of operations....multiply THEN add. 10 X 3 = 30. 30 + 1 = 31.

Going to revise mine as I took a real good look at the nanners...
1 coconut=1
1 apple = 10
3 nanners=3
1+10 x 3= !!! 33 !!!
Should be 33.
fella 10 had it right at the beginning.

I see that now 1+10X3= 33 as grumpy stated
or if you do the correct order and use multiplication first, then
10X3+1= 31 as raspivey stated
