go for it, I'd be interested to know if you can get it to crow at day break.

Chuckle....I've got chickens...young ones hatched this spring....ended up with too many roosters.....they're just beginning to crow.

Good Grief Charlie Brown! They crow ALL DAY!

It's a veritable smorgasbord of crowin'! I'm wicked though, I step out back and mimic their crow and set 'em off.

DH told me I'd better not teach Cletus (the parrot) to crow...won't be able to shut him up. A Cheerio on the beak won't work...they don't need to move their beaks to talk or make sounds.

It's bad enough that he mimics the phone ringing then yells HELLO! HELLO! Also mimics a door knock and yells hello.

So much fun, I love it. I am a city boy (not the 'big' city) though my grandma had some chickens from time to time. Didn't need em to wake up though, my grandparents lived on the street behind us with a gate in the back fence so only on Saturdays did he trek the back yards to bang on our bedroom window and tell us to get up for school then walked back home laughing all the way.

Love it when grandparents live near by when kids are growing up. My sons had a similar childhood.

My ex MIL (God rest her soul) used to say:

The only thing I can leave my grandchildren that can't be used up, spent up or lost is memories of me. She created and left a lot of 'em for her grandkids.

Looks like you got the same sort of inheritance.

These were my Dad's parents, they were always within a few blocks all my life. My Mother's dad was also, her mother passed just before I was born and he never re-married. Lots of relitives close by with mom's siblings (5 girls and 2 boys) and dad's (5 boys and 2 girls) and all those cousins. Well enough about me, we have moved away from your Parrot thread topic.
