Anderson leveling blocks

If you are speaking of the Anderson wedges that go from 1" to 4"...they are great. They allow leveling to be a smooth occurence. Using my level gauge on the front of my 5th wheel, I place the levelers in front or back of the tires and slowly back or pull the 5th wheel to where the gauge shows it at level. I put on the brakes, squeeze the trailer brakes and set the parking brake in my PU. I then put the included wedges as needed behind or in front of the tires. They are well worth the money. Anderson also stands behind their product as I had one crack through for some reason. I contacted them with a photo and they send a new wedge.

We have them and while we don’t use them often, when we need them they are great.

I have not used the Anderson levelers but purchased the CARMTEK Levelers. they are the same concept but less expensive. i love them, easy to use.

Being prompted to search for these by your reference to them, I see they're rubber coated and have ridges on the bottom, which probably helps with slipping. Can you comment on your experience in that respect?

I bought a combination set. It has the levels and it has the jack wedge. They all work great.

The CARMTEC levelers have a rubber type feel to them and the ridges do help to keep the wedge locked in place. I have found that in some instances you need to put a rubber mat underneath to keep them from slipping on smooth surface. Easy to use and quick set up

Take a couple of 2x6x3' just in case the soil is soft. They will sink.

The first issue is using them on gravel or worse which didn't seem good for them. I say worse because I am primarily a back country boondocker. That also often gets me into ground that needs some extra lift. And I was also sometimes having a weird thing happen on hard surfaces where I would roll up and hit the brake to hold that position and the tires would spit out the wedge.

To solve all these problems I got a mud flap at NAPA and cut it to fit a 24" 2x6 with 45 degree miters on the ends. I then glued the mud flap piece to the 2x6 with contact cement. So unless I need very little lift I put the Anderson on the 2x6 and it's easy on the wedge, gives a little extra height, and prevents the wedge from spitting out.

Has anybody had that problem with the wedge getting spit out?

Hey guys, I posted this earlier. Check how I build a 2x6 pad for this slipping problem and keeping them from getting broken on rough ground.

We used the Anderson system for 2-3 years then one broke. I think the sun got to it. Our camper stays put all summer. It certainly wasn't weight, we're <4k lbs fully loaded.

We've switched to the Beach Lanes. They seem a little heavier. So far so good.

Best thing I bought for leveling. Yet to break one in six years of heavy use.

Someone mentioned Beech Lane earlier. I have seen comments from Boondockers and full time Rvers about breakage of Anderson Levelers and sinking in certain soil conditions. The Beech Lane does look A LOT more robust over Anderson and has longer warranty. Unfortunately not US made. But that will be my choice along with some 2x6x4'.
