Hello, it seems like I am not getting fuel to my genset. Last summer I had to gravity feed the genset from a bucket for the remainder of the trip because the fuel was not flowing.

My question is do i have a fuel pump in the gas tank, or is the generator gravity fed from the built in gas tank? The genset has a prime option, after I prime it the genset will run for 5 minutes but die shortly after.

Please let me know if you know.

Should be an electric pump near the generator, or attached to it.

I had that problem with an Onan Marquis Gold generator. It would run for 5,10 or even 15 minutes then shut down. Like the previous poster said there is a fuel pump near the generator. I googled the info for the correct fuel pump, found it on eBay and installed it. Runs like a top now. This part only cost about $80 to replace. Give that a try.
