Generator

I know I need to start gen. every so often but, can you do it safely while being plugged into shore power. Thanks ahead for your feedback

Not familiar with your setup but in most instances the answer is yes. Assuming you have an on board generator factory wired, you may have an automatic transfer switch with the generator as the primary power source. When you start the generator it should switch from shower power to generator power with little to no interruption. There are also manual transfer switches, in which case you would continue running on shore power until you manually switch.

I do not do that. It's one or the other for me.

A little more info needed - what gen set? Factory wired? I know on mine 4k onen - there is also a circuit breaker on the gen and in most generator just flip the breaker off if concerned about burning something up

Why not just walk around and pull the plug?

And don't forget, it's recommended to load the generator while you exercise it. I plug in a space heater set on high to load it some.
