Small toy hauler

Looking to get a small, 18 / 21 ft toy hauler, seems like this size isn't very popular. I tent camp so really only need the refrigerator and the hauling capacity. have 2ea) honda ct110s, and all the gear for 6 / 8 people. I like the forest river 18rjbbl but paying $20k is hard to handle. I have had several trailers, not toy hauler, and age seems to be a big factor.

Your post from yesterday had a link that was not allowed so it got caught in the automated forum spam filters. Craigslist ads are not normally going to be allowed.

OK, I did edit it and moved it to this thread, where it is now the first post.

I found this one for $7800, 2007 Fun Finder Xtra by Cruiser RV XT200, looks pretty nice but a little old. I would think the aluminum frame would hold up better than wood. When it comes to trailers, people not in CA get them for way cheaper than we can.

There is also a 2009 monsoon for $13500, looks nice but overpriced I think.

Going up to look at this today.

2013 Sandsport SL 18FKSL toy hauler, $10900, looks pretty nice, any input?

Toy Hauler

I currently own a 2019 Forest River Wildwood FSX 181RT Limited Edition toy hauler. It is 20 feet long overall. It has ample storage, and all the amenities.
Used it to haul my 4 wheeler. Decided to buy a Georgetown MH. It is for sale by the way!

Cute rig, but I can't find a way to value it. Be aware that some campgrounds won't allow rigs over 10 years old which is a bummer.

That being said, if you like it and think the price is right, go for it.

You can't join a Forest River Owners forum and expect a lot of responses for a non-FR product.

A friend of mine has a 20 foot dual axle box trailer he pulls with a 1/2 ton pickup. Normally he pulls in his Model T in it and has enough room for a fold down bed in the front that he shares with his dog. When at a campground, he can pull the T outside, then can use the other amenities like his fold down table that he uses with a camp stove. He has a porta-pot in there too. A toy hauler disguised as a box trailer. He fitted the roof with a Fantastic fan and cut a hole in the front panel to hang a small AC unit. All the comforts of a travel trailer minus a shower.

My first brand new grey wolf toy hauler in 2014 was only $15,989. Cheaper than some used. I would suggest looking at the models on the forest river website. Find one that fits your needs then search internet for the best selling price. Most likely Ohio or Indiana May have best prices.

The OP lives California, where prices are 30% or higher, used and new.

I live on the east coast but that did not prevent me from traveling west to pick up a great deal.

Thanks for the responses, Sorry for the silence but after no reply I didn't look here for a few days. I was looking for any input from experienced trailer owners, experience helps a lot. I did start thread this cause I was looking at a 18jrbbl but just couldn't justify the $22k+- that it costs here. I did find one in utah for $18.2k but then getting it and paying 8.25% sales tax still gets it up there. Seems like small toy haulers are a little harder to com by that 22 / 27 footers. I did buy the Monsoon, it's actually a 2010, fortunately where I camp there are no age restrictions for the rv. This was made by Dunesport, looks well cared for and pretty well built although I don't know that much. It's going to haul my 2 1984 honda ct110 nicely and all my other gear. Tows really nice from what I have seen in driving it 136 mi home.

Glad you found a rig that fit your needs. The website for the Monsoon shows that they custom build toyhaulers. So your chances of having a well built rig is pretty good.

I think this is a pretty good setup for us, considering the price. New ones look really nice but out of my price range. I have learned to live with things. For the age this looks really nice.
