Toilet foot flush

Had the xlr winterized for a couple of months, now we’re in Texas for the winter and the foot flush on my toilet sticks open. Closes real slow. Is there a fix for this. Thanks and have a Merry Christmas.

The seal in the toilet might have dried out. Try some Toilet seal conditioner on it.

Crunchman, I’ve treated it twice, 5 days apart, with seal conditioner. It’s still really slow. Any other ideas? Would it be alright to apply a little petroleum jelly to the seal, or would that gunk it up and make it worse.

Do you have a Dometic toilet? I have seen the ball in the toilet get slightly out of adjustment and cause my foot lever to do a slow return.

Roger that. Uncle Gene's ball pivot tab had come out of its pivot slot on one side... caused the described issue.

OP, I found a video where a guy fixes his Dometic toilet. His issue was that the toilet did not hold water but in my case it was a slow foot lever return. Doing this video fix resolved my slow foot lever issue.

Good luck with what ever your fix is...

I was going to recommend Plumbers grease originally but it is a petroleum based grease, says do not use on rubber. So no, do not use petroleum jelly.
