Commercial Grade Domatic A/C Unit For Rv's
FYI, At work we had to replace a low profile Dometic 13,500 BTU a/c unit on one of our ticket booths. We have replaced at least 5 over the past 8 years.
While reserching on the web and making calls to Dometic we learn that Dometic came out with a new unit, It has a 3 year warrenty and requires a 4" hole in the roof which is standard and it's call a "Commercial Grade Unit".
The new unit is now charged with R-410a, the day for R-22 is about over.
We were going to replace the old Dometic with a Carrier, but Dometic has a longer warrenty, so now we are going to give Dometic one more chance.
The price for this new up-grade was $850.00 buck, plus the inside return and supply grill, t-stat and a control board that cost seprate from the unit, but we have to buy it because it is needed, I don't understand that part of it. The grand total for this up-grade was just under $1,300 bucks.
I am guessing but if this was to be installed at a dealer on an RV, it would most like have a price tag of about $1,700......Just thought I would pass this on for the ones that like Dometic.
