GM recall
Just in, GM and Chevy Silverado 1500, 2500 and 3500 trucks 2014 to 2018 recalled for braking failure - if you've got one of these please contact your dealer. Some Cadillacs are also included.

If it's a "Recall" and you have one, you'll receive a "Recall Notice" to have issue resolved. That's usually how it works, but you never know.

Just had repairs done last week at dealership on 2015 GMC Sierra. At slow speeds, or even backing up, when I applied the brakes the pedal got rock hard & truck continued moving before finally stopping. Helpless feeling - would not want to be pulling an RV when it happens. If you own one of the listed vehicles, don’t wait. Get the repairs done ASAP.

Check your VIN with VIN checker ( https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls#vin). My 2105 2500 was not included.

If you bought it used or have moved you very well may not get a notice.
Best bet is to check the NTSB recall website.

I wasn't thinking of folks at home, just posted for those on the road; you never know.

Carfax already sent me an email about this.
GM-Trucks already sent me an email on this.
Both pointed me to the GM site | https://my.gm.com/recalls | and, yes, my truck is included.

This is the type of situation I originally posted about. Have been told I posted in the wrong place or " you'll receive a notice". I tried to put it where normal post traffic would see it. Just hoping to get the word out before someone is hurt.
Thanks for sharing your experience.

My brake problems were the result of a bad brake vacuum pump, which apparently falls under a GM "Safety Bulletin" and was replaced at no cost to me. GM extended the warranty for this problem.
Three days later, GM issued a "Recall" for brake problems on these pickups. The repair only consists of updating computer settings. But it involves another trip back to the dealership.
Two different problems - if you can't stop, it's a "Safety Bulletin". Computer changes are a "Recall". Go figure!
