KIDDE Fire Extinguisher

Got my new extinguisher today. It was 3 pound size to recalled was a 2pounder. Did notice it was a BC as the recalled. Thinking, shouldn't the extinguisher be an ABC, with the wood being the primary fuel, not wishing on anyone. BC is liquid and electrical. Not a fire tech, but with the makeup the RV ABC would be one to have. Any clarify out there?

The smaller extinguishers are often 10 B:C rated and used primarily for marine and automotive applications where wood, etc. is not a likely source of fire. You make a good point about suitability for RV use.

Did research a minute or so. BC is used more in recreational field. They say ABC is messy and there is more liquids o fuel the fire, as in TV and coach. Use of course BC and ABC as backup. Now I know. Thanks

I was thinking the same thing. One in my camper is 5BC. That's what they sent for replacement. The OEM was push button and the one sent discharges with handle. I had 3 other extinguishers and all were within recall. All received were IMO upgrades to what I had. Hats off to Kidde. I noticed the recall dated back to 1976 I think. That's a bunch!!
