LP gas quick disconnect recall.

Has any one experienced any issues with the quick disconnect, and exactly where is this disconnect?

It always helps if you provided the year, make and model number of the RV you're talking about. Or put that information in your profile or signature.

I haven't heard of any such recall. Do you have a citation for the recall?

It’s funny that you come here for an answer to a question and then tell others to google something.

Here is some information.

It appears to affect 2021-2022 model years.

Recall doesn't seem to affect any FR products.

We picked up our new MiniLite on Wednesday. As we did the orientation the dealer had a tech swap out the newly recalled LP quick disconnect so we wouldn’t have to come back….thought that was good service

This I saw from a relative and it had different data and did not list F/R . Looks to me that most every manufacture has purchased the Q/D fittings from the same place . Thanks for the link to the F/R data . I guess now we sit and wait .

I wouldn't sit and wait. Those QD's can be had from Amazon or Walmart for less than $15 and installed in about 10 minutes. Lot of models involved, could be in for a long wait going the dealer route. The supply chain is still suffering.

I have a couple in the garage. I am not worried about it at all. You have to wonder though where wally world,Home Depot (where I got mine) and others buy them from . Mine I have are only maybe a year old ! I cant use the Q/D with my new grill as I cant remove the regulator and you cant run 2 . I will let my nose keep a lookout for leaks !

Yeah I went out and looked at mine, even tugged and banged on it and it held.

From what I see printed on it, mine is a different manufacturer than on the recall but I'm not 100% sure about that.

Apparently new rigs were stop shipped and are now shipping with blank caps on the manifold until they can get the parts.

I'm not too worried about mine, I've used it a bunch of times and now beat on it and it has held.

Maybe I'll be better about turning my tanks off until we know what's happening. You're supposed to turn the tanks off anyway when traveling but I'm not too good about doing that.

My QD is marked gas-flow, not flextech.

Yes, Rockwood are part of this.

Interesting, I think I had a defective valve myself. I could smell a slight propane smell by the tongue but could never pin point it. I bought a gas leak meter and was able to narrow it down to the value. From initial inspection it looked fine. But when I took it off I could see a fine line crack. I bought another one and replaced it, no more leak.

Forest River recalls nearly 100,000 fifth wheel and travel trailer RVs

The quick disconnect fittings in the LP gas system may be cracked! Read the article from Consumer Affairs.

I am thinking of just turning off propane and replacing mine with a new valve myself. Dealer is 3 hours away, and the cost of getting it there far exceeds the cost of the part. Thoughts?https://www.amazon.com/DOZYANT-Propa...461a9a5a6&th=1

Got my recall letter in the mail Tuesday I think it was. The dealer is only a couple miles away and I need to touch base with him on the new door for the fridge and the bad counter top so I will call this Tuesday and see what they are doing and how they want to handle the recall. My fist trip out was uneventful other than the Tornado 6.8 miles away that killed 2 and injured 40 ! I used the disconnect and had no leak.

Quick disconnect

I received my letter o. Saturday. I called my dealer (Funtown RV in Waco TX) They told me to bring my trailer in for inspection. I got there at 0900 and was told that the quick disconnect needed to be replaced. Luckily they had the part in stock. The repair was completed and I will get my trailer back today.

I contacted the service department at Cedar Creek about this recall. A week later I got a response. They want me to tow my 41’ trailer 70-miles to a local dealer so they can replace the new one I already bought. All I asked for was them to reimburse me the $20 I spent. It’s a prefect example of how idiotic these RV companies are.

Got my letter a week ago but I havent called the dealer yet. It would be nice if I could just swing by and have it done. Its not rocket science its a fitting. Remove ad sealer and replace. I am also waiting for word on the replacement refer door that was dented in transport and the counter top that was chipped in the middle and filled with some foreign material then sanded down ! Would really be good to get all the issues corrected at the same time !
