Magic Chef 12 Volt refrigerator recall
Has anybody gotten a recall notice for their 12 Volt refrigerator? Someone on another site got one for her 2024 Rockwood 2606WS. She posted it, but too small to read.

My notice is in the mail arriving today and suspect it is for the Magic Chef. I posted on the super lite facebook forum and another member with a 27BHWS has it also.

Yes (8-5-2024) I just received my Notice in the mail from Forest River stating that my Magic Chef Refrigerator 12v, 10.7cuft "may not have the proper vents cut out inside the refrigerator potentially causing cooling issues". I went and took pictures and there are 6 slots/vents in the Freezer section and there are 4 slots/vents on both side at the top of the fridge section with only 3 additional slots in the middle section going down the center.
Freezer works fine but I must admit the fridge section should be cooler. I will call Berryland Campers in Ponchatoula, La. Tuesday morning to see what is going on.

Yes, I received the TSB notice yesterday. I already made the vent modification based on the instructions given in the Forest River DYI video posted on-line:
It did make a big difference. I emailed Forest River telling them I made the mod myself following their instructional video and asked if some note needed to be made on our specific unit that it was done. They said the dealer who sold us the trailer could do that. I may follow up on that with the dealer. Honestly, I'm not sure it will make any difference to anyone, me included.

Take the high road. It's usually less muddy.

The service department at Berryland Campers opens in 20 minutes. I will be on them like gravy on rice shortly to see what direction, if any, I need to jump to get this resolved and get back to you all.

Thank you so much Mookie58
This is exactly what I was looking for my dealer is hours away and the closest dealer I won't go to so thank you so much for the video. I'm going to do the mod myself. Much appreciated

Finally! Maybe all the posts about the fridge not getting cold enough will slow down!

Got the recall on my 2024 Minilite 2515s. I had already made the mods, cutting in the two vent holes. This made a big difference in cooling and the fridge now stays below 40 degrees.

Thanks to all. Receiving the recall meant a 70 mile drive to a dealer I am not impressed with anyway. With all I've already done before our first trip [which had a fridge that did not get cold enough] I think this repair will be a piece of cake.
Great forum and thanks for all the info

Magic Chef 12 volt
Following. So disappointed. Brand new Geo Pro 20 FBS. Have placed temp Sensors in freezer and fridge. Both in unsafe zones every morning. Fridge doesn’t come on once the solar panels stop charging. Seems to start up mid morning. Why on earth would they use such an inefficient unit. Have had a few travel trailers and NEVER had an issue.

Wendy that sounds like a battery failure. Have you checked it and assured it is supplying power after dark?
