Oil companies don’t set the prices for a barrel of oil. If they did I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t have set prices of NEGATIVE $40/bbl a couple years ago.
Oil companies are making record windfalls of profits for many reasons, and one of which is not because they don’t want to open more wells. Infrastructure, not being able to find employees, closed wells being messed up and unable to come online easily, plus the fact that the oil companies are gun-shy about putting a lot of money back into drilling, completions, and infrastructure right now because of stockholders and lenders have made this situation more worse than it should be. But it was going to happen at some point no matter what.

Gas prices are falling not because we’re making more gas, people are just buying less gas. Means they aren’t driving as much which means they aren’t buying as much. Saw think it was two weeks ago unemployment was up but we also added new jobs. One of my few friends was going to make 2019 - 2020 school year his last . Set to retire but then came cancer he stayed on one more year for insurance. There were lots of people in his shoes probably were gonna retire COVID hit and it accelerated retirement, lost over a million to the virus. Flooded the country with cash. What did we expect.

I disagree with people not buying gas/diesel as much as they had been. We just completed a trip to NC and Ga.: I-95 is bumper to bumper.
What's happened is that during the previous administration we were energy independent, and now we have policies in place that make us energy dependent with nations that not friendly to us. Those nations are the ones to set the oil prices on the global market according to demand, so who's making money hand over fist? Remember the oil embargo in the early 70's? We paid dearly for being dependent on other countries to provide oil for us.
Here's something to consider as to why gas/oil prices remain high; https://news.yahoo.com/oil-u-reserve...110438513.html
Then consider this: https://newsrnd.com/business/2022-07...SJOibhSh9.html
So why can't we go after the oil?: https://money.cnn.com/2016/07/05/inv...oil/index.html
So with all this to consider, it's the mis-guided policies of this administration that's causing oil to be so high and other goods to be so expensive. In some ways, oil is more valuable than gold.

My dealer said my trailer had been built and was awaiting shipping. I said,"well how about I go get it." Sorry no way that's allowed.

What brands? I know of only a handful of RV manufacturers that allow this. Most are custom manufacturers, like Spacecraft.

It's a Rockwood 2205s. I've asked my dealer and contacted Rockwood. They both say no. There is a video at the rockwood youtube site that says you cannot buy direct but apparently you can't pick up either.
I just wish the thing would get here, it's been over 6 months.

World oil prices were $53.13/barrel on “this administration” day one, 1/21/2021. When Putin invaded Ukraine, prices more than doubled in 15 days, peaking at $123.70, a 133% rise from the 1/21/2021 price. It’s down to $102.26 on July 20, still 92% over the Jan 2021 price.
During this period, US gas pump-price rose 49% from $3.429 to $5.107, and then dropped 10% from the high to $4.599. US gas prices are now only 34% higher than 1/24/2021, while UK gasoline prices are 74% higher, and world oil prices are 92% higher. According to the Cato Institute, "There is really no room for doubt that Russia’s war on Ukraine raised the retail price of a gallon of gasoline by at least a dollar in the U.S. (and much more in Europe)." Because of COVID, US crude production was down 8% in the 2 years BEFORE this administration and 1% during this administration.
No US administration policy has had any real effect, good or bad, on world or US prices in this time. Anyone asserting otherwise will be logically challenged. The US produces more energy than it uses, is a net exporter of all oil products, and is the world's largest producer.
US gas prices are still very low compared to other affluent countries. Before complaining, consider these prices:
1 Hong Kong $11.21
2 Norway $10.70
3 Denmark $10.02
4 Finland $9.64
5 Iceland $9.47
6 Greece $9.29
7 Netherlands $9.20
8 Sweden $9.05
9 Germany $8.80
10 Singapore $8.76
11 Israel $8.24
12 UK $8.17
13 Belgium $8.10
14 France $8.06
15 Ireland $7.91
16 Italy $7.78
17 Poland $6.52
18 Ukraine $6.51
19 Canada $6.49
20 Malawi $6.32
21 Jordan $6.30
22 Turkey $5.80
23 Brazil $5.78
24 China $5.50
25 Zimbabwe $5.46
26 Australia $5.45
27 India $5.09
28 Japan $4.85
29 United States $4.79

You are probably more correct on this than I. I talked with Liz (my memory) and it seems for at least the last 10ish years our friends who picked up a new RV from the factory all purchased MHs. Don't remember the brands.
I do know when we ordered our first Terry fifth wheel many decades ago, one of the options was to pick it up from the factory. Unfortunately, we were still working so couldn't do it.
So I don't know anyone personally who picked up a towable from the factory in the last 10 years or so.

I really don't care what the rest of the world is paying for gas, this is the United States. We used to be self-sufficient two Short years ago. This administration has done everything in their power to cripple the US gas and oil industry. Come November we will see what direction this country goes .
