Weld failed first, note rust, then tubing on top, then tubing at bottom (no rust).

I looked at an installed Jack It, at my dealer. It appeared to be strong but if I didn't have a truck bed or a truck bumper mounted bike rack, I'd go with something like the S-C bike bunk system.
Luckily I have more options.
But one thing, I'd never put my bikes on the back of my trailer, reinforced or not.

Junk. I own the Bike Bunk and it’s solid. Thanks for sharing.

Junk is a bit harsh...and certainly not true. The two big advantages of Jack-It over Bike Bunk is weight and cost considering the additional weight and cost of having to add a separate bike rack to the BB.

Okay, your right. An opinion of "junk" was a bit harsh.

We carry two adult and one child and I took to fork bike brackets and mounted them to a two by 4 one each board and I alternate the bikes so the back tire is sitting on the other board. Works well a little time to get them out but they are stable down the road and they don’t hit the wallls or door on my roo 21 dk. So they sit right inside the door

Front of TV vs Interior of RV

Previously, I did haul my bikes in front of my TV for years. I built a custom front bike rack with rock shield using a Swageman Bike Rack.

When I bought my new F150 and Rockwood, I bought this floor bike rack and we haul the bikes inside my RV at the front door. This provides a very stable bike rack at the campground as well as very stable while traveling; plus the bikes do not get wind, rain, rock, bug damaged while in transit.

We notice that Matt162 hasn't responded nor said what his tow situation is.
In a previous post by Matt he mentions a hybrid camper.
We still don't know what he's pulling it with.

If it's a pu truck I can only add my 2¢
We use a bike stand exactly like shown in Sonic2 post 29.
It sits in the front of the bed in my truck. We have a short piece of PVC pipe cut with notches on the ends that goes between the bike frames. A bungee between the bikes keeps this nice and firm.
Then a ratchet strap from one of the bikes to each front cargo attachment.

Sorry I don't have a photo but it only takes about 2 min to put them in the truck and
a little less to get them out.
When at the campground the stand holds them up with a tarp over them in inclement weather.
The bikes get a LOT less bounce in the bed of the truck than just about anywhere else.

Those pins are threaded and, if properly tightened, have no wiggle.

Windsurfdog is correct. The pin is threaded and was tightened with a wrench. Not tightened to the max, but tighter than I could get by hand. The only “wiggle” was forward and backwards, but the rack failed from side to side movement (my opinion). As has been mentioned by others, I feel like the metal itself tore right next to the weld. For clarification it was two adult mountain bikes.

We were loading bikes in hybrid to haul them but I don't love loading dirty bikes into our camper. I picked up a DaKine pickup pad and we use it when not camping also when we want to haul a lot of bikes to a trail. There are other brands also, we found this one was best combo of price / features for us. It's basically a big pad that covers the tailgate and provides some cushioning and protection so you can load the bikes with the front wheel / fork sticking out the back. It's really easy to load them and they stay in place really well. There is enough clearance between bikes and trailer, but it gets close with propane tanks so double check that as you may have to arrange them a certain way or point the wheels in or out to clear them for tight turns backing up.

I bought a Bike Bunk and tried to use it on my Roo 183. Unfortunately, due to the small A-frame, there's really only one place to mount it and that location didn't allow enough room between the TV and the bikes.

I ended up getting a roof rack for my TV that holds two adult bikes. I put two kids' bikes inside the Roo (not the best option).

We use this, https://www.thule.com/en-us/us/bike-...ider-_-1689832

Lucky enough to have a pickup bed we can use to haul the bikes, and this rack is adjustable, removable, lockable, and very sturdy. Still have enough room in the truck bed to put all our miscellaneous gear.

My last micro light had come with a rear ladder mounted bike rack. I installed it and hung my bike on it (a mid range Kona) and decided i would never trust it based on how it felt.

Front bumper or back bumper, this is how they all fail. I think they are fine but front or back you need a tension strap or two to take out the bouncing.

Evereddie, did you read the notes for the bike rack you purchased?
NEVER use on trailers or front of vehicles

You are proposing to use it on the FRONT of a TRAILER?

Ron

I totally agree.
That rack is not strong built strong enough for a RV application.
Especially for 4 bikes.
