Ohh the sweet smell of coffee

My next mod. Had it in my last htt, and let it go with the trade in. I know you K cup fans snub us old dripsters...but, After finding out B&D discontinued it, I thought of sneaking in as a cat burglar and taking it back. But, turns out they are reproducing them again, and one with a 12 cup carafe.

Love just plain old drip coffee makers. Have a small bean grinder that goes with me, always. Best thing in the morning, fresh ground, dark, strong, brewed coffee. A whole pot!!!
No little wussy k-cup. Would have to use 4-5 for my morning intake.

It was crazy, throughout the past year, whenever I went to a dept store I'd look to see if they had one. Ebay had only used and people were asking 2-300 for them. Just out of the blue i got a Target email about the new K cup brewers and decided to search. Blew my socks off and ordered it. Will be here Wednesday and in by the weekend.

Yeah, it was my xmas gift in 2011. DW got it for me (I'm the only coffee drinker). Being only 8 cups we had to keep a second one stashed if we entertained. But, that thermos carafe will keep it hot for hours. I went with the 8 again since the 12 is glass. Though the carafe never fell off mine while traveling, at least its metal.

This is my travel buddy.................

Mr. Coffee® Simple Brew 4-Cup Switch Coffee Maker

Cheap, reliable, no microprocessor so it works fine with dirty inverter (MSW) power, takes up very little space. When traveling, I put it under the sink inside a small plastic trash basket with the bagged trash as packing.

Yup. I have an old Gevalia coffee maker (circa 1980 somethin'). 10 cups, been around through all the pups and stuff. Ol' reliable. When the house monstrosity of the moment breaks, out from the trailer it comes. So, now it will go sit in the cabinet and wait for its next use (which will probably be Columbus weekend since we have a group of 12 rv's heading to Lake Compounce).

I used to keep a 4 cup Mr Coffee in the camper since I'm the only coffee drinker but someone earlier this year posted about Kohls selling a keurig for about 50 bucks with some coupons. Good deal! It's in the camper now and every cup is fresh. I use some pods but also use a refillable pod with my own can coffee. For a solo drinker, it's the best (imo)

Coffee is very serious, I have a 12 cupper with built in dispenser, and a Mr coffee 4 cup in the camper at all times. Keep the percolator for tea, but can use in an emergency.

For years I've used one of those blue & white speckled coffee pots - threw out the basket. Use 2 rounded tablespoons coffee per cup of water. If, e.g., I'm making 5 cups, I'll get 4 going to a rolling boil and toss in the coffee and put the top on. About 5 minutes or less later I'll throw in a cup of cold water to settle (most of) the grounds.
I'm sure its in my mind, but I swear its the best coffee and our 3 grown kids always ask for it when they visit us camping. (By cup I mean 8 oz., not a 6 oz. coffee cup.

Pour over coffee. Use a bun when electric is available. I roast my own coffee beans, Costa rician, and it's hard to beat the pour over. Google it.

Got a new GE 12 cup drip just for the lite right after I got it home.

It works for me to the tune of three pots a day when camping.

Amazon has this model for $90. Seems kind of pricey to me, but it is cool looking.

Sorry about that... As mentioned above there is the $90 version and there is also a stainless steel version for around $120. Agreed it is pricey. Weighing how much I hate our Coleman stove top maker and running down to get pricey coffee at the campground store. I have seen a gradual price increase at the places we stay go from .25 cents a cup to several dollars with those fancy k cups.
