Tire clearance cruise lite 17exl

I just purchased a used 2010 Salem cruise lite 17exl ( I believe similar to wildwood 17exl). I am now noticing that the tire clearance between the top or the tire and wheel well is less than 2". The space between the axle and the frame is similar, about 2". Does not seem like enough room for suspension travel. Is this normal on this trailer? Is there anyone out there with a similar trailer? If so curious what is your experience if this is a problem? Not sure I like it so I am thinking of flipping the axle.

Not familiar with that camper, but most TT's do not have springs or shocks so tire (axle) movement is almost non existent.

most TT do have springs or torsion axles, both move vertically, most don't have shocks

2" to the top sounds a little small, any rub marks in the top of the wheel well?

i assume the frame clearance is to the side, 2" should be plenty here

Warfrat48 , Coil springs no. Leaf springs or torsion axles as llr says yes.

When I say frame clearance I mean from the top of the axle to the bottom of the frame. Great question on checking for rub marks. Not sure why I did not check. I will have to check when I get home. Thanks
