Well we're on another 4 day trip with family. Still getting settled into our 15 solaire 213x. Set up around 3pm yesterday and by late evening I noticed the black tank level was getting high. We never come close to filling the black tank, grey tank yes but not the black. Thankfully this camp ground has a honey wagon since I set up in a tricky spot and would hate to pack up and go to the dump station. Ok so why is this? I know last weekend I let my brother borrow my camper for 1 night, but he hardy used the bathroom, gauge didn't even register anything.
So while using the toilet I notice water is trickling out as though someone was pushing the pedal a little to put water in the bowl. This is my first trip with water hook up. Pressure regulator on the camp hook up and I put mine on too. Temporary solution was I turned off the water valve. As I was several cold ones into the evening and enjoying R&R I left it be but want to diagnose today.
If it was like thew flush valve was pressed, the bowl would fill up and eventually overflow, I am not familiar with the type of camper but many have a control panel with a bunch of switches and you black tank flush might not be closed all the way, just a thought remember I said I am not familiar with your type of camper.
The toilet would have to be full of water in order to fill a 30 gallon tank in a few hours. even if the bowl held 2 gallons it would take 15 flushes, and you would definitely notice if it was that full. Before if you had water in the bowl did it stay or did it slowly drain? I suspect your toilet is 1: not sealing properly and 2: you have a flush valve that is stuck open a little. The valve can stick open if a piece of debris get stuck in it. You will have to remove the valve and inspect for whats wrong. Should be able to find instructions on line to remove valve.
I had the opposite problem; debris in the valve stopped all water flow.

While I had it out, I added a washdown wand to save water during cleanup.
I tried using the existing hose barb (don't forget to cut the tip off), but the pressure was reduced so much I did not get the cleaning I was looking for.
You could also add a hose connection for a black tank wand if you don't have a tuboflush to avoid routing a long hose through the window or door like I used to do with our travel trailer.

Just thought i would do an update. I monitored for the next few days, back at work now
Seems as though after flushing the toilet or putting a little water in the bowl, once the valve closes there is a little water left to trickle out of the holes. It stops in a minute. Kind of like turning off my house shower, the water left in the shower head trickles out for a moment.
As for my black tank filling up so fast, starting to believe something was stuck on the float. The honey wagon guys pumped me out when i wasnt there, but my gauge still said it was 1/3 full. I saw them later and they said hardly anything came out. Oh well $15 was worth sleeping at night not worried about an overflow. Yesterday we were back up to 2/3 full before packing up. Being a nice guy, i moved my camper to another site as my brother, sister in law and kids were coming for a 3 day stay and borrowing my rig (my rental fee, i left one of my kids with them LOL). we stayed till late evening with them and i told him all about the tank deal and that he might want to get pumped out again. I go in to show him the gauges, hummmm its reading 1/3 again. All i can figure, moving the camper stirred the contents and maybe washed some paper off the float.
Will check in with him, test at home and in less than two weeks my better half and I are sneaking away for a no kids or pets weekend trip to Keuka state park. gotta check out some hiking in Watkins Glen and Letchworth then maybe a winery tour.
There is no tank sensor "float", if that's what you're thinking.
Just probes on the side of the tank.

SURE!
Most don't even rely on the erratic tank sensors.
They are famous for their unreliability.
TP or poo get on them and they show full when it's not.

just read a few other old post and i see how the sensors work now. So I am pretty sure, driving to the campground with a little matter in the tank threw off the sensor. Then moving it again with stuff in there fixed the issue this time.
similar to my post a few weeks back, i like these minor issues, i keep learning more and more about these modern units.
The sensors are essentially just four screws attached to the tank at the various fluid levels. When the liquid in the tank touches the bottom screw and one of the upper screws, that light lights. If a piece of TP or just general sludge on the wall of the tank touches the two screws, it registers, Your gut feel is generally much more reliable than the sensors.
Got it thanks. i guess before any travel it should be flushed out good. Previously i didnt think a few bathroom breaks would have affected much and clean out at home is a bit of a pain.
