Who has an xlite 19ex fiver in this forum?

We just ordered this lightweight camper, sight unseen. We love fifth wheeling, want to pull it all over this country, and keep a low profile. Does anyone else have this unit, or experience with the expanding double bed or the included cargo carrier? We would appreciate any tips you can offer for us to check for when we pick it up in a few weeks.

Thought expandables might be a better section to ask these questions. No response in fifth wheel area

Sorry no one seems to have one or wants to help. Sometimes you have to be FIRST, there is no other choice. Good luck, and happy camping, and post a review after you get it.

Thanks, Windrider. The 19xlite fifth wheel is home after camping overnight to test systems and everything is working so far. Love the pullout faucet and double kitchen sink. The Dometic refrigerator is a 3 way which was a good surprise. This small fiver has much more space than I anticipated, esp. the bathroom/shower and general floor space. Good fit and finish so far, and it pulls so well my 2500 Sierra hardly knows it's back there.
Not as much outside bin storage as I would like for a fiver, but the backpacker design in rear helps make up for that. Also, no towel holders in BRm, so will have to mod ourselves there. Queen mattress is so cheap and uncomfortable your dog wouldn't sleep on it. And why would you locate the h2o drain where you have to lower the spare tire to get to it?
But, the price was exceptional, and it is a new 2011 unit. We made the right choice so far, bottom line. Will post some pix when get opportunity.

Here are some pix of new unit. Had to add towel rack on door-none came with it. Very pleased with fit and finish. Pulls great. All systems working so far!

granite, your pics aren't showing up here or on RV.net.

not sure what photo host site you're using but most use Webshots.

This pix posting is frustrating. I have a new apple imac computer we are trying to get used to, also read and tried to follow all the instructions for posting. Tried photobucket as a host. I'll try Webshots next, Bikedan, thanks.

Granite, export your photos from iPhoto to your desktop, then open Photobucket and upload them there. Hit Share under the photo you want to appear here, then copy the line of code that starts with IMG. Paste it here.
That should work for you.

Thanks, milzat!

This fifth wheel only weighs 4500# with the accessories we put on it. So far I would recommend it over some of the other lite weight fivers we looked at that were much too expensive for what you didn't get.
We have a 3/4 T sierra, but I believe a 1/2 T would be more than adequate to pull it, too.
The easy install towel rack was our first mod, but we have a boliy generator on order and plan to carry it on the backpacker rear rack, which is also right next to the electrical connection.

Hello granite,

I know it has been a while since you posted on this thread. I need a lightweight fifth wheel and have found a used 2010 single axle 19EX (I have seen a picture showing a dual axle set up as well). I have a F-350 diesel (2wd), so normally would be able to pull most any fifth wheel I wanted, but our favorite place to camp is Lake Conasauga, high in the Georgia mountains, and 13 miles of U.S. Forestry roads of just okay condition to get there. There are several sections of the route in that are quite steep, so I believe that I should go with a fifth wheel for the sake of traction.

Do you still have your 19EX, and if so, are you still satisfied with it? Do you think it could stand up to a relatively slow drive on 13 miles of dirt roads?

Thanks,
Hairyhyde

Hairy, Granite has not posted, on the Forum, in nearly 3 years.
suggest you send him a PM, in case he doesn't visit his old posts.
